Aliens & Espionage: Crop Circles and the CIA Coverup

In 1974 a group of scientists beamed a message into space. The message, meant to be received by an intelligent alien species, described life on Earth.

Written in simple binary code, and using the most powerful radio telescope on the planet, the message was broadcast to a dense cluster of stars in the constellation of Hercules.

This exercise was just ceremonial; a way to demonstrate new technology in radio astronomy. Nobody was really expected to receive it. And even if they did, it wouldn't be any time soon. The nearest star in the direction of the broadcast is 25,000 light-years away.

So, the telescope was tuned to 2380 Megherz, aimed at Hercules, and fired up. The scientists congratulated each other, shook hands, and went on with their lives.

But 27 years later, something very unexpected happened with that message beamed into deep space.

We got a reply.
The above is just a small section from the overall video. The true facts concerning Dave and Doug who were the first to claim they made the crop circles are covered well also and largely debunked. ( They pole vaulted into the fields ?) There were also many mentions from as early as the 1680. Its a long video but worth watching.

Great episode!

I've always had a fascination with crop circles and was disappointed to see them drop from mainstream reporting. Getting current information is difficult as searches just bring up sites telling us they've been proven to be nothing more than a hoax by the 'fringe UFOlogist'.

I really like The Why Files and his little fish, it's incredible content and perfect for us conspiracy theorist.

I watched this last night it was a good one.

This disk formation with the binary message is interesting, as are those faces and the message response.

Also I wonder if the video that shows orbs creating crop circles has ever been debunked?

The "Mowing-Devil" is from 1678.

Its a long video but worth watching.

I doubt it, I hated the few videos from them I have watched.

I think it was, there's something about that here somewhere, I'll try to find it.

As for crop circles, I have yet to see one that defies human capabilities, so I don't see any reason to think they are not made by humans.

I'm from Wiltshire.

We have lots of crop circles.

We are good at them.

Odd how they have gone from crude to increasingly more elaborate.

May be down to GPS and computers and stuff?!!!!

Cider may be involved... afterwards.

I couldn't find what I was thinking about, but it was the Oliver's Castle case.

National Geographic made this debunk, but some people don't accept the debunk as valid. One of the objections I agree with concerns a man saying what the cameraman should or shouldn't have done with the camera and should or shouldn't have said while filming. I agree with the critics that specifically is a lame attempt at a debunk. However, I don't think the Oliver's Castle video needs much debunking, it's a really stupid video that's an obvious hoax. Now maybe this isn't the greatest debunk either, but regardless of what this video says, the faked Oliver's Castle video still looks completely fake.

This was my favorite episode this year. I love how he typically debunks most of his content at the end of the videos. It makes it more interesting when he does not.

You’re apparently on your own. The episodes aren’t perfect. However, they are succinct.

All hail Hecklefish!!!

I watched the video, but haven't checked the source material.

I find it difficult not to be sold on the evidence of

On one hand independent technical analysis presenting the case for the crops being bent over by electro magnetic energy versus
On the other two blokes from Wiltshire who waddle around inacurrately on duck boards and claim to "pole vault" between circles so as not to leave tracks.

but the show gives airtime to both.

Personally, I think any show that presents both cases objectively is doing a good, and long over due, job.

But then again I love watching this stuff!

The amount of effort the CIA has put into debunking the circles , and to go as far as attempting to pay the investigators and even supply them with equipment and teams if they say that they are man made, goes a long way towards indicating that they are very real.

After watching the video, a silly idea came into my mind... If aliens are willing to communicate, are capable of communicating (using binary) and are against deception (that is, in my understanding: they don't agree with the politics of keeping contact hidden)... I believe that an experiment of providing them with some form of method (other than crop circles) to modify the environment (or something) to express their thoughts can be a good idea. A possible method could be the use of something like an Abacus in an open area: you leave it there (write your message in binary) and wait some days for some kind of change in the configuration of the beads. Maybe it would be possible to make some proof of the fact if someone record this using double cameras on different angles.

I agree with you in terms. Almost every episode I watched (like the 5+ newest) was a rollercoaster of good evidence followed by an effort to debunk it in the end (and the debunking part takes like 1/20 of the time of the first part... like they are saying: "look how easy it is to make fun of the previous facts"). It got me frustrated with them, but I kind of feel that if I watch it with the understanding that they are going to do that and that I'm learning new names+facts+events and paving the way for further inquiry on my own... it may be worth it.

That's one of the problems I have with the "crop circle scene", people appear to look at only two possibilities, one on each extreme.

There's no such thing as "writing in binary", binary is just a numeric system, like decimal.

To "write in binary" we need coding system that makes the connection between a binary number and a letter, like "01000001" meaning "A" (if I got my zeros and ones right), then we have to use those letters to write in a specific language.

If I was part of an alien species trying to communicate with humans I wouldn't:
1 - choose apparently random parts of agricultural fields in a few specific countries, mostly in the UK;
2 - choose an enigmatic writing system that nobody can understand.

When we really want to communicated with someone with try to get the closest to their own language as we can (I do it here all the time, as my natural language is Portuguese).

I don't like their videos because they are done in a stupid way and lose a lot of time with stupid things like the fish.

This ! Then again the CIA may have thought ahead and wanted us to think this so we 100% believe crop circles are real: project blue beam?
