I didn't ask anything in my reply to your post

However , you inferred.

Your turn . .

Uh, I've had enough of your reindeer games, which includes your unparsable statements that you evidently think are oh so clever. I inferred what exactly? That you implied that I asked a question of you? Yes, that is exactly what I did. Guilty as charged. You got me dead by rights. As to a failed attempt at deflection, I have no idea what you're talking about unless you mean my characterization of what you consider fluff, which I steadfastly stand by given how you have engaged with me so far.

Seriously, try harder in engaging with me, or don't bother to at all. Really.

A coup against himself?
Trump was still president.

I love these desperate threads, they seem like they are being typed while clutching a laptop on a window ledge of a tall building.
They realize they are screwed with Biden in control but still hate Trump.

No, a coup against the US government. The president is not the government. You might like to take a refresher civics class online. Amongst other things, it's a government of the people, by the people, for the people, not just by the president and for the president. And said president at the time was trying illegitimately to seize a second term in office, a term he lost in the general election, therefore he was attempting a coup.

But your GIF at the bottom of your post sums up the risibility of your argument quite well.

Dude just stop the BS.

Biden’s administration wasn’t installed at the time, therefore a coup to remove them wasn’t possible.

Dude, stop the stupidity and ignorance. I never said the Biden administration was installed at the time, I said that trump was trying to unlawfully interfere with the peaceful transfer of power to the next executive branch administration by attempting to strong-arm the legislative branch of the government, thus it was a coup attempt against the US government. And for gawd's sake once again, the executive branch isn't the sole US government. Yes, I spelled it out in more specific terms this time around, because you clearly didn't get it the first time.

I see your most compelling arguments are the animated gifs you put at the bottom of your posts. It's not really a way to win an argument.

Typical Liberal, they always think they are the smartest in the room, when in reality, it’s not even close.

This thread is about the Georgia GOP Chairman, who is not part of the Federal government.
Therefore it’s not a coup of the Federal government.

The animated gifs are for illustration purposes only, for people that have a problem understanding facts.

How come no pics from the Jan. 6 attack on the US capitol? Or video of the pro-Trump goons in hand-to-hand combat with Capitol police?

As for the pics you did show, those were neither coups nor insurrections. They were protests, the upper one indicated some rioting had occurred previously, the lower one showed a guy with an AR, but he wasn't overtly threatening with it. No clear evidence of insurrection, let alone a coup. Did the protesters in Seattle attempt to take over the city government? I don't recall that happening. People protested, some rioted. That doesn't really make for an insurrection.

Huh? Yeah, I explained to the guy claiming that Trump didn't attempt a coup because he was already president, that this was besides the point. And suggested that he learn his US civics so that he can better understand how the government works. But then you say that in this very same post that I tell another poster to take a civics course as well? Uh, no. I recommend you work on your reading comprehension -- that or your writing skills. Your comment made no sense.

HOW freakin blind do some of you have to be? The coup started around March 2016 when they knew that what was coming could not be stopped. They tried to fix the 2016 election and fell short. Look into it and you will see how DHS breached multiple states voting servers.

Buddy, this thread is about the investigation of attempted voter fraud by Trump and company, and the attempt to overthrow the election results. In particular it is about the GOP Chair of Georgia claiming ignorance of what he was doing. And yes, that investigation is at the county and/or state level. No argument from me there. But back in a prior post of yours, in response to Mahogany, you brought up the matter of whether or not Trump had attempted a coup, saying how could he have, as he was already president. My point was only that he was attempting to interfere with the peaceful, constitutional transfer of power of the executive branch of the federal government, which is a de facto coup. And I was suggesting you read up on how the US government actually works, so you will be able to know what you're talking about regarding such matters, as clearly at this point you do not.

Yes, this thread is about the Georgia GOP Chairman and his part in these doings, but it concerns directly the presidential election, which involves at its heart the federal government. And once again, you are the one who made the claim that Trump couldn't attempt a coup because he was already president.

Typical rightwing conservative (as opposed to an old-fashioned conservative), they can't get their head around the facts, and they cannot argue their way out of a paper bag. But let's not get personal about it.

I am, however, reminded of several quotes attributed to Mark Twain:

"Never argue with stupid people. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

"'It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt.'"

And the irony in your statement regarding animated gifs is quite rich.

You're saying you didn't see the video of MAGA demonstrators battling Capitol police within the capitol building. Seriously? Police in riot gear being punched, kicked, bludgeoned, crushed? Really? Let me guess, you didn't bother watching any of the Congressional hearings on the Jan. 6 attack because you only watch FOX and other like-minded right-wing propaganda media.

How about we just both agree to live in are own two worlds -- me here on earth and you on Bizarro world.

I enjoy watching Liberals backtracking in the morning.

Spin it how you want to spin it, the fact remains…..
THERE WAS NO COUP, it’s all in the minds of the hurt feelz Liberals.

Plenty of evidence of massive Democrat voter fraud, so where is the coup again?

What are you talking about??? HRC had "faithless"/fake electors in 2016? I don't recall anything about that. Please cite a source or retract the claim. And a coup starting in March, 2016? by whom? Last time I checked Trumped served out his four year term from 2016-2020. The entire left stated "not my president." Uh, no. Sure, plenty did, but certainly not the entire left, and please provide some legit sources as to your claim that congresspeople, governors and other former elected officials did so, or retract your claim.

"They" all denied the election results? Not even HRC did so. She accepted the result. She, unlike Trump, didn't try to seat fake electors.

And by backbone of Bannon and Stone, I guess you mean mendacity. Michael Cohen was the one guy from Trump's original circle who had the honesty and sense of patriotism to do what was right.

No one knows their history anymore? You don't know your current events from seven years ago.

Rig elections.
Prosecute anyone who asks questions about or challenges said rigged elections.

Seems like a lovely country if you like North Korea.

No, they're prosecuting folk who tried to commit voter fraud by the candidate asking the Sec. of State, in an infamous phone call, to come up with 10,800+ votes more for him, in order to overturn the election, and for a false slate of unduly elected and uncertified electors to be sent to be counted when the legitimate electors had already been certified.

And you're claiming the election was rigged without any evidence, and with legal challenges to said election found to have no merit in several courts of law. No one has been prosecuted for questioning or challenging the election; rather some people are likely to be prosecuted for attempted voter fraud and for attempting to submit a false slate of electors. Two entirely different things.

Utter nonsense.
The conversation was about finding FRAUDULENT votes and the recognition that only 11,000 had to be found to change the result.
In the face of literally hundreds of affidavits with respect to fraudulent activity and the more than suspicious way the count unfolded on the night, it is a perfectly legitimate request. In fact it’s a request that is a duty to make.

As i have said before that the election was rigged is blatantly obvious. That it can’t be proven in a court of law is not required to know with a good deal of certainty it happened. We all saw it unfold from the moment the state laws began to change to facilitate election rigging, the unsupervised counting, the inexplicable shut down of the counts and the dead of night miracle turnaround in Bidens favour.
Be happy your side won a rigged election if you want, but don’t gaslight.

Says the person who equates the US to North Korea. And for the record, Trump asked specifically for 10,801 votes -- just enough to overturn the state election result.

Literally hundreds of signed affidavits attesting to fraudulent voting activity? Then why didn't any of the court cases involving these matters, some adjudicated by Trump appointed judges, including appeals to SCOTUS, which had three Trump appointed judges, find in his favor?

You claim the voting fraud is blatantly obvious, so it doesn't matter if it isn't proven in court. Sorry, but that ain't how the rule of law works. Your the one trying to gaslight with your bio-methane. You make all these claims but can't substantiate them. If the country worked the way you want to, i.e. never mind findings of fact in courts of law, then we would be living in system like they have in North Korea.

As for your claim of the dead of night miracle turn around for Biden. It was well known by GOP election strategist consultants that the late-night votes would come from mail-ballots that were predominantly from Democrats. And before you start bad-mouthing voting by mail, remember that Trump himself voted in this fashion. Evidently it's good enough for him, but not for the little people in the big cities that tend to vote Democratic.

As for perfectly legitimate requests to reanalyze the vote, that is what was done by Trump supporters in Arizona, and they ended up tallying an even larger margin for Biden.

Look up the current House Democratic Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries. Real easy to find his denials and talk of illegitimacy.

Cohen is a punk who rolled over on someone who trusted him.

You are so ignorant to basic facts that you easily show what the problem is today and who would have voted for the jackass in office we have now. Good job!

FWIW apologizes to everybody I broke my own rule of never engaging ATSers that rarely if ever actually start a thread, but conversely post inquisitively in other ATSers' threads. Throw in how cocksure they are of their theory, which makes it even less believable. ie if it was so obvious why are you selling it so hard?

It isn't about opposite viewpoints either, there are plenty of ATSers I disagree with, but they have the manner, tact, and decorum where you can actually learn where their life experiences led them to believe what they believe.

Regardless personally Im on ATS to learn, not argue. Isn't the world already full of enough of that chit. Not to mention there are plenty of other forums online for this purpose...

If this is the new ATS
