n 1980, under Jimmy Carter, the Mental Health Systems Act of 1980 was passed. This bill provided federal grants to local community mental health centers. One year later, the 96th Congress, with a DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY in BOTH houses, and strong Democrat support, repealed the act. Reagan signed the repeal, which was placed on his desk by Congress, but he was merely following the wishes of the elected representatives of his constituents. The bill Reagan signed was introduced as S. 1177 by none other than Ted Kennedy.

Hey Annee, The SPLC named the "Moms For Liberty" a hate group now.
And you asked me why I thought the SPLC was themselves, a hate group.
MFL made its name in school board meetings, protesting COVID-19 mask and vaccine mandates. Their efforts quickly evolved into combating inclusive education and LGBTQ+ acceptance in schools and communities by pushing the narrative that children are being indoctrinated and sexualized through a radical “Marxist” agenda. Their tactics include advocating bans of books about people of color and the LGBTQ+ community, attacking the inclusion of hard histories in school curriculum, and targeting members of the LGBTQ+ community.
ICD-11 has redefined gender identity-related health, replacing outdated diagnostic categories like ICD-10’s “transsexualism” and “gender identity disorder of children” with “gender incongruence of adolescence and adulthood” and “gender incongruence of childhood”, respectively. Gender incongruence has been moved out of the “Mental and behavioural disorders” chapter and into the new “Conditions related to sexual health” chapter. This reflects current knowledge that trans-related and gender diverse identities are not conditions of mental ill-health, and that classifying them as such can cause enormous stigma.
Inclusion of gender incongruence in the ICD-11 should ensure transgender people’s access to gender-affirming health care, as well as adequate health insurance coverage for such services. Recognition in the ICD also acknowledges the links between gender identity, sexual behaviour, exposure to violence and sexually transmitted infections.

Is this good?
Things that sound good on paper aren’t necessarily good.
It does remind me, kind of, when they changed the gay classification, but made sure it was written so that insurance would cover meducal needs.
It is time for the world to recognize and celebrate the rich diversity of human nature – UN experts
“To reflect critical advances in science and medicine”, the World Health Organization, WHO, has removed so-called “gender identity disorder” from its official manual of diagnoses, which is being hailed as a major win for transgender rights.

super, now the mentally ill cannot get assistance from insurance for anything other than changing their appearance.
Well played deep state. And the left smiles, high fives each other thinking this is a win. DERP is much too nice.

We are not discussing the mentally ill.
Further, a January 2023 longitudinal study from Dr. Diane Chen published in the New England Journal of Medicine shows an increase in positive affect and life satisfaction and a decrease in depression and anxiety for TGD youth after 2 years of hormones.

the level at which you miss the point remains epic. If there was a trophy for this, you would have the big one.

Just totally over the ignorant claiming transgender is a mental illness.
