Although he was impeached for inciting insurrection, I don't think he was the mastermind behind any attempts.

Maybe at best he knew something was going on?

They were there to clearly send a message with dozens of agitators there to take advantage of the situation and if things went as far as they wanted, they'd go all the way. Hence the conviction of the proud boys, and probably more to come.

The problem is much of our courts have been politicized by the left. We have what is called a double standard in if the liberal left is doing the event it is downplayed, and if it is the right then it is inflated. Even looking at what the Proud Boys were charged with it is smoke and mirrors with really no substance compared to the left actually doing physical violence and crime and that is called just protesting.

The left called it all an insurrection, you suggest they went there to hang lawmakers, but in the end, it was people walking around talking selfies and leaving in a couple of hours as curfew hit. Something is just not matching up here..

*Sigh*

Quoting the same BS story doesn't make it finally true. If anyone had guns it would be illegal in DC there and they would have been arrested long before going to the capital. Was anyone arrested for having a gun? Was anyone in the capital with a gun?

Who was the judge for the proud boys case and who appointed him in that position?

Tim Kelly...

As for the gallows, it wasn't to actually hang lawmakers and Pence, it was a message.

People heard others yelling to hang Pence.

I'm just shocked the evil left didn't have him shot by an impartial firing squad.

Yep.

Indiana Man Pleads Guilty to Carrying a Gun and Assaulting Law Enforcement Officers in Jan. 6 Capitol Breach

If you actually pay attention to the arrests and trials there are more than just this guy.

NBC

A Jan. 6 defendant admitted on the stand Monday that he was armed with a gun when he charged toward a police line at the Capitol.

Guy Reffitt, first Jan. 6 rioter to go to trial, found guilty on all counts

As I said they would be arrested if they had one... Everyone here has said 100 times, if someone breaks the law then prosecute, but have the punishment fit the crime. They had people in isolation for like 8 months...

What was the worst offense out of 1000s of people? How many people actually went into the Capital? People are throwing out small numbers of anything and then still saying it was a mass of people committing an insurrection.

What is interesting is Tarrio wasn't even there on Jan 6, but the prosecutors said he planned a part of it all from his hotel room.

Wow! There it is, some brought one, and most if not all were arrested long before going into the capital. I failed to see a gun in the capital, or was one there too? Is your point to suggest a few actually brought guns in a sea of 10,000 people, or are you suggesting it was an armed attempt to take over the government, as silly as that sounds.

The police lost the perimeter and pulled back and Congress was evacuated, so there was no-one to use those weapons on, apart from some police officers who got beaten and sprayed on. Do you really think that they wouldn't have used those weapons if they'd found Pence or Pelosi or Romney? They were protesting - and trying to stop Biden being certified as President. That's sedition. It was an insurrection, pure and simple, they were trying to overturn the election. Members of that crowd are still being sentenced to prison for what they did.

'Lost the perimeter'...
Is that when they decided to give guided tours of Congress?
Good grief.

The question you are replying to asked if someone had a gun “in the Capitol.”

Your response involves two cases where someone “had a gun on Capitol Grounds.”

Having a DC unlicensed gun on Capitol Grounds is certainly a crime, but your reply is non-responsive to the question of whether someone had a gun “in the Capitol.”

Proud Boy Enrique Tarrio, was in a Baltimore, Maryland hotel room --- while he was operating the Jan. 6 insurrection with his cell phone and TV.

Among other weapons some Jan 6 insurrectionists possessed: Capitol police officers were maced with bear spray guns and trampled.

How many people were shot and killed during this insurrection? It must be such a large number they keep fences up in DC just shivering from fear.

Once again weak sauce to suggest it was anything other than an ad hock event that was a violent protest that really didn't go anywhere once people went inside and nowhere near the violent protests the left has been doing for years now. It's just a political circus that the left LOVED that it happened, great ammo for years to come.

It's quite sickening to listen to Jan 6th described as if it was like Custers last stand or something.
It's been inflated so much to the point of farce.
I saw a large crowd of protesters and a very few agitators and a fairly easy walk into the Capital Building, with a guided tour.
The major violence was against a young lady who died from a completely unnecessary gun shot through a doorway - and that was at the hands of the police , not the protesters.

Well...the insurrectionists got darn near close to apprehending Mike Pence --- Who knows what would have happened to him, if they did.

That is like saying the violent protesters at the White House who wanted to burn down St. John’s Church got darn close to getting Trump. The protesters on Jan 6 didn't make it past a small group of guards as their outrage kind of piddled out and turned into tourists taking selfies living the moment.

Yes, pre-trial detention for attacking the US Capitol in an attempt to prevent the transfer of power.

What's the punishment for treason against the United States?

Less than what these guys got. They got lucky.

Sure if that was actually reality and not a narrative push by the liberal congress. Here is 2018...sound familiar?

Hundreds of young protesters stormed Capitol Hill on Monday, taking over the offices of three House Democratic leaders to call for an immediate climate change plan.

Tucker Carlson has 40,000 hours of Capitol Hill video from Jan 6, 2021.

The Mainstream Media wanted the 40,000 hours of video from House Speaker McCarthy, then suddenly changed their mind?

You don't hear anything from them on this subject any longer. But many questions posed across a slew of ATS and social media discussions, could be answered by viewing applicable sections of a video(s) from that day.
