Yes, that was quite funny and it showed how easily he can lose his temper. Although, I grant that those were exceptionally stressful days... I would have lost it, too, and probably much earlier...

I think I've already seen that interview. It was embarrassing though he's the one who insisted on it being done.

LOL! That was excellent. I can't believe Channel 4 could get away with something like that. Decent summary of the interview, too.

I thought something like that, too. I'm glad you said it.

I collect fountain pens and I haven't had one leak in three decades.

A week before the big event and another 3 day weekend , Yayyy the King ! , it's been revealed that those poor souls watching the Coronation of King Chaz 3.0 will be invited to pledge an oath of subservience to the Grand Poobah.

The Archbishop of Canterbury said it would "recognise and celebrate tradition" as well as contain "new elements that reflect the diversity of our contemporary society".

The public will be given an active role in the ceremony for the first time, with people around the world set to be asked to cry out and swear allegiance to the King.

This "homage of the people" replaces the traditional "homage of peers" where hereditary peers swear allegiance to the new monarch. Instead everyone in the Abbey and watching at home will be invited to pay homage in what Lambeth Palace described as a "chorus of millions".

Thanks Chaz but , errr , Nah !

Thanks for the day off though.
It’s symbolic in gesture only . Nostalgic in a way .

True, but he will rise to power after the coronation!

The dude is 74 years old with fingers the size of pork links, his time to shine might not be quite as dazzling as some imagine or last that long.

Yes. He's a nonce and a complete Muppet.

I am quite looking forward to the ceremony TBH.
I certainly won't be swearing any pledge of allegiance, however some tradition in the midst of the absolute insanity in the world won't be a bad thing.
I just hope Charlie boy doesn't # the bed with a load of woke BS.

The system rule in the UK amounts to what is called a "constitutional monarchy".

A constitutional monarchy, parliamentary monarchy, or democratic monarchy is a form of monarchy in which the monarch exercises their authority in accordance with a constitution and is not alone in making decisions.

Is it antiquated and draconian, yes, should the system of rule be replaced, probably but I'm not quite sure what with.

The UK is a far cry from the likes of North Korea, point of fact it's nothing like the place, or anything reminiscent of such or the rule in place there, considering the freedoms on offer to the people who live here in the UK.

North Korean? Not really.

As others have pointed out, we have a Constitutional Monarchy with the Monarch having little real power, his family even less so.

Comparing them to the despotic regime in NK is just absurd.
