In reality I think any change is going to be longterm and incremental.
It's always in the post, or so I'm led to believe, change that is.
However now is a good opportunity to make a start with the role of the royals.
Not that i don't agree, but again i don't see the House of Lords sharing the same view.
Hence the constitutional monarchy we have in place is not going anywhere anytime soon and neither are the lords, aristocracy, and landed gentry that hold sway over the nation.
The thing is they are not all just about to go quietly into the night ScepticScot.
Would Blair's war still have worked?
Would we still be spending billions on trident while kids are starving?
Would Jimmy Saville have still gotten a knighthood?

But how would swapping a Constitutional Monarch as Head of State for an elected President change any of that?
It was elected Prime Ministers that did all of those....and much, much more.
Why would an elected President be any different?
And if the elected President had no real powers - like The Monarch - then what exactly would be the point?

I think the Monarchy kind of died with our late Queen.
Andrew put a nail in the coffin.
I'm not a Republican. I'd just like to have a ceremonial type Monarch as a figurehead and get rid of all the parasitical hangers on.
As for Queen Camilla? No. Just no.

AND, another thing. If Charles wants to do some thing good, look at Buck Palace, just him and her with all those rooms, why don't the government take it over to house illegal immigrants. Oh, oh, sorry asylum seekers. And all the other royal residences cos they only need to live in one.

Oddly enough, I do have time for Anne. Even if she does support Scotland...
