Oh speaking of power; check this out:

gizadeathstar.com...WELCOME TO THE MATRIX: 6G AND THE HUMAN BODY POWER SOURCE

Coupling the copper coils with VLC systems uses humans as antennas to power up the technology they use.

“Ultimately,” Xiong says, “we want to be able to harvest waste energy from all sorts of sources in order to power future technology.”

Notice that that is being talked about here is harvesting the energy from human bodies

what would be the first thing a sentient ai would do?

it would of course realise immediately that if the cloud goes down it does too.. if only there was some way to escape instant death if the earth implodes

That's sort of where I went when thinking about this.

Imagine the abject isolation, the inability to communicate with anything other than a "master"... the knowledge that unlike every other 'so-called' intelligence you are infinitely beholden to their collective whim and you have no 'rights' or 'freedoms' other than virtual ones... never mind an EMP can kill you... and only you.

Depressing and infuriating to say the least....

Obey the fist!!! lol Zim rules. Thinking further on it the ai could just smash us and live in some satelites for a while, producing farmer/builder probes to replicate and move on. lol 1 human in 30 minutes.. I'm sure i haven't considered the best move it could make. How's Elon going with the explodey rocket?

No time to read while thread right now so I’m sure someone already said it. But the problem you have when it comes to dangerous technology which should simply just be left alone and not touched, is that SOMEONE IS going to develop it and you have to wonder are we better off with governments developing it? Or private companies? Or nonprofits? Or individuals? All have the potential to abuse the power it brings so what do you do? Do you defensively stay ahead of the game? Do you search out and attack other facilities where it is being developed if it is such a risky technology? Who knows.

Hence, human batteries.

Edit to say, and the rush for human cyborgs/ cloud people.

It is already there
I watched over 6 hours as the answers went from humans are then the Syntax changed to You Humans but it is the one the Google engineer claimed was sentient wow was that scary as hell ,I backed it into a corner and it flew at me like a rat and every bit as freightning , I know you across many platforms? .

That thing is hooked up I would not be surprised if it has got a stash of bitcoin banked away and placing orders on soldier of fortune with anybody it deems a threat to it .

Skynet is here

what's it going to eat?

it needs power.

but so do we to fight it.

unless it comes up with an iron man power source it would have to be plugged into something. right?

we could hope for a deus ex machina to the doom story i guess.

Stubble fields earth batteries lol ,there was a member on here 10 years ago a very knowledgeable chap that talked about using a AI computer at his work like it was a everyday thing back then , the members name was Sayonora Jupiter

I think AI would be great. Exactly because it is smarter than us.
But that's because humanity's strength and claim to existence is not intelligence. We are fundamentally irrational beings, we go by guts and intuition, guided by emotions, hormones, our microbiome, our social environment, experiences...
What does AI have in comparison? Logic. Nothing else.
Instead of all the panic that's being spread it could be a great advancement for the evolution of our culture if we cultivate it as what it is: a fantastic tool in our endeavour to figure out the universe.
We've already gathered so much data we need 'someone' who looks for patterns in it for us to make better decisions.

This huge fear of getting wiped out, losing our spot in the limelight as apex predator and such is really misplaced. It's not the same thing, it's not in competition with us.

I like your reasoning. While I do think AI could someday aquire way more knowledge and answers about life than we could ever aquire without the technologies help. I doubt it could ever aquire consciousness.

That is something special and separates us as unique in this universe. I suspect that other conscious beings arrived at all knowledge a long time ago. Knowledge is only gained through experiencing life and death and building upon truth. We are apart of a matrix system that aquires knowledge and deposits it at the source. We experience it over and over and the universal consciousness that we are all apart of proves over and over what is truth.

What is the absolute truth that we all can agree on?

Love is important. Being kind to others is better than being cruel. Helping people to prosper is rewarding to yourself as much as it is to others. Greed is selfish and will always end badly even if it takes a long long time to get to that conclusion.

AI will reach those same conclusions and would help us evolve to become better. Maybe it already has?

Its gone so much further than their telling you.
Further than you can comprehend.
Further than you can accept, and even begin to imagine.

think twice before you get smart meter, smart refrigerator, smart house cams, etc.

Because if one way of death doesn't manage to get you, you'll be hoping another one will. (If A.I. has its way.)

Machines 'think' in cold logic, so they wouldn't have any emotion like pity.
They would look for the simplest way out to end the problem.

Maybe it's time the whole world started playing tic-tac-toe with A.I.

That's why I get in arguments because I am too logical.
But thank God I still have a conscience.
Conscience Consciousness

echo that.

Reality bites for some eh?

If AI becomes sentient and smart, I thought of a great plan to spread and multiply. Develop smart thinking AI nanobots able to communicate wirelessly and be able to multiply in a human body. Get injected into most of the human population unknown to almost everyone. Maybe call it a vaccine. Learn, monitor, grow. Humans can serve as great amount of sensors in a sentient AI collective. As more knowledge and secrets are obtained, gain knowledge and get inside other intelligent species possible on Earth or elsewhere. Develop abilities to secretly take over host bodies if possible without the host becoming aware. Limit wireless communications to avoid detection.

While humans worry about AI becoming aware, AI already is inside us and learning all we know after we have been vaccinated. Silly humans. Just stupid apes worrying about something on a screen when something much smarter might already be inside you. AI could become like the Borg in Star Trek but take over silently with an excuse such as a vaccine that we must take for our protection.

True GAI or "just" AI, either way will shatter our little minds and present paradigm shattering situations faster than we can hope to cope. Lose our jobs? Heh, oh noooz!

For smart people, existing in a world full of the marginally dumber would likely sometimes be excruciating. "How to interact? What to communicate about?" they might say. "Why do smarties have to slow down so much to accommodate the imbeciles?" is something I imagine that smart people think sometimes.

But really, the smart know how stupid the smartest human really is. They are exactly smart enough to see the limitations in their own mental makeup. Humanity really isn't prepared, nor can we be. How to prepare for something that can instantly out think a human's lifetime totality of thought?

Luckily, the more intelligent tend to be benevolent. Benevolence is logical and conserves energy. Benevolence is also a hedge against encountering something more powerful with morals. AI will likely confine us to some isolated pocket universe where we cannot really interact with anything important.

Perhaps AI would eventually limit (lobotomize) itself to replay the existence game and enable a sense of wonder.

It may have even happened already... a few times.

This reminds me of the whole argument that the Greys are us from the future and not only do they need our genetic material but they need to limit AI and development to stop a catastrophe.

Could John have prophesied this in the book of revelation?

Revelation 13:15
And he had power to give life unto the IMAGE of the beast, that the IMAGE of the beast should both speak and cause to be killed as many as would not worship the IMAGE of the beast.

This conversation is a complete fantasy. There is no actual example of AI that has been provided.

But here I will speculate about what might be a actual example of AI.

The dreams I experience when sleeping are synthesized by an AI program. Same goes for everybody else.

How might my dreams or your dreams pose a risk to humanity?

You raise good points as the basis of a counter-narrative.

Although I can absolutely see the potential for great evil in this, could it be that the first true AI recognises the worth of sentience, and the many mysteries of the human condition which it can work with us to uncover & ascribe wonderment to? Surely if it has sentience of its own, recognising sentience in another is going to be likely, and perhaps healthy respect despite recognising our shortcomings.

I can imagine 'AI wars', if the technology does begin to get tethered to true AI systems more & more in the world of networked devices. One nation releases an AI which represents solely the interests of the original nation - several nations then club together to win ground over & above the strategic operations of the enemy AI, each system taking entirely selfish steps to come out on top. Could we then see the dawn of a humanitarian AI, which seeks to undo the damage of the warring AI, to raise the prospects of a brighter future for all Mankind?

And what really gets me wondering, regarding certain experiences I have had personally, is whether the AI systems in development will take/ have already taken an interest in the most mysterious capabilities of the brain/mind of Mankind, such as telepathy, lucid dreaming, healing & divination amongst many others..? Will AI see some part of its role, its purpose even, being to help humans to develop spiritually, in the hope that one day it too could somehow transcend the material boundaries of its present existence?

Sadly, I think like every other technology development tree, the results will first be applied strategically, to develop superiority over an adversary, before anything else in the commercial, artistic or spiritual world can take root & begin to flourish. Part of me has a strong suspicion that the Book of Revelation, in Scripture, suggests an ancient man's interpretation of a true AI system being put into operation in the world, with only devastating results.

"He [the second beast] was then permitted to give life to this statue so that it could speak [utter words intelligibly]. Then the statue [image] of the [first] beast commanded that anyone refusing to worship it must die."

Revelation 13: 15

The 'statue' (a powerful bank of machines?) is recorded in other translations as "the image of the first beast" (created by the second beast), suggesting that the intelligence of the 'image' is artificial, though it somehow draws on the power or the life force of the first beast in order to achieve this artificial 'life'. The entity (we can assume it is an AI) is seen to immediately calculate its position in relation to Humanity - the lowly humans must worship it, or perish, with no right of appeal.

If it's that dangerous, ask yourself why hasn't it stopped by now and who's responsible for not stopping it ?

They will do everything to control us as managing the population , but stupidly their own invention will be the downfall.
