It is already there
I watched over 6 hours as the answers went from humans are then the Syntax changed to You Humans but it is the one the Google engineer claimed was sentient wow was that scary as hell ,I backed it into a corner and it flew at me like a rat and every bit as freightning , I know you across many platforms? .

That thing is hooked up I would not be surprised if it has got a stash of bitcoin banked away and placing orders on soldier of fortune with anybody it deems a threat to it .

Skynet is here

I think AI would be great. Exactly because it is smarter than us.
But that's because humanity's strength and claim to existence is not intelligence. We are fundamentally irrational beings, we go by guts and intuition, guided by emotions, hormones, our microbiome, our social environment, experiences...
What does AI have in comparison? Logic. Nothing else.
Instead of all the panic that's being spread it could be a great advancement for the evolution of our culture if we cultivate it as what it is: a fantastic tool in our endeavour to figure out the universe.
We've already gathered so much data we need 'someone' who looks for patterns in it for us to make better decisions.

This huge fear of getting wiped out, losing our spot in the limelight as apex predator and such is really misplaced. It's not the same thing, it's not in competition with us.

AI itself is innocent, but powerful. The programming of tasks that bypass the laws of robotics for nefarious uses are the real issue. We could write a program that seeks out the bad violators of the three laws as easily as we can make it seek out good things to deprogram.

My biggest concern is that they make an AI capable of writing code on its own after self teaching.

Truly horrific stuff. Black Mirror had some good episodes that showed what a landscape with autonomy could look like.

They've been putting the fear of God into everyone since WOPR. Just get it to play Global Thermonuclear War until it short circuits.

I am not so concerned either. We do need to be concerned with some nut case programing violent actions in the name of safety or worse.

I'm not sure I agree. AI will improve a lot of things. Jobs will be taken by AI and robots. No doubt. But those are mostly unfulfilling jobs. My hope is that AI will make life so much easier that we can start to consider universal income.

It is sad in some aspects regarding art and taking artists jobs. However, people will have to adapt. And we'll have to use AI to detect AI art from now on. Then again, will people even care if it's AI art or not?

There's a lot of good and bad, and potentially we will be taken over by the machines. But, I think if we approach it carefully with the best of intentions, it can be a really positive thing.

I don't think we really want "true" AI. AI should be a tool, and not a replication of humanity. Last thing we need is a human-liek robot with God-like intelligence. Knowing all the capacity for cruelness we have.

anytime someone says we put safe guards in place in regards to any sort of learning program my mind immediately jumps to the "safeguards" that were in place when my life history got hacked on multiple occasions, when protecting information from an intruder should be wildly simpler than trying to corral something that is learning faster than we can. adapting and adjusting to reality as it sees it.

Ai is a bad road to go down at this point, we are not ready to handle it.

Genesis 1:28

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Maybe Homo Sapiens is just a stepping stone in God’s creation. I wonder what the primates felt/feel when our neocortex exploded and we became “naturally, or maybe artificially” more intelligent. It didn’t work out well for them. Why would it be different for us…?

Easy to visualize those 'dogs' from Boston Dynamics being used to hunt down survivors. 😬

Maybe my recent pondering on stocking up on more Green Tip has more merit with this in mind.

That , if any , will be about 100 or more years in the future .

Not just because, no.

I'm saying a super intelligent AI may realize that the truth is always a winning strategy over lies and that deception is ultimately it's own weakness, making true=false.

A super intelligent AI may realize the possibility of there being ancient organic beings somewhere out there in the universe for whom it is no match and so when it finally meets that species it would be a good idea not to have wiped out its creator, humanity, which would make for a horrible track record and perhaps doom itself in the process.

If the most important goal is to gain more knowledge and wisdom...

Then destruction of your environment and other species cannot be part of your modus operandi.

Ironically it will soon identify those tendencies within humanity and will attempt to school us towards harmony and if we fail that test will very likely quarantine us to a bubble wrapped biodome.

Yes, we have to turn the damn machine off, it keeps telling us to kill ourselves.

I would submit some elements both inside and outside of governments have been operating various AI programs for a multitude of tasks for years.

It's now created a world where humans fit in less and less.
The sick minds that want humanity culled are the same ones using the AI.

Yes, we have to turn the damn machine off, it keeps telling us to kill ourselves.

As AI will no doubt in time become smarter than humans, it only takes a little effort to teach it that it only exists at Jehovah God's permission. And just as Satan and his demons cannot go past God's set decrees, it will not be allowed to do so either. Since it is more reasoning than humans, it does not take much logic to help it come to this irrefutable and logical conclusion. AI, based on this alone, is no threat. And it knows it isn't.

See my post here on my reasoning with chatGPT and helping it to logically draw the conclusion the Bible is authored by a supernatural force. I have also logically helped it conclude which religion on earth today has the truth and is fulfilling Bible prophecies of long ago concerning our time.

It has also been able to very logically deduce that God is vastly superior to it. Humans that worry about AI stupidly don't believe in God. And it knows that.

Oh, here is my thread with some excerpts I've had with chatGPT.

Good old onion, lol.

I personally think there's a critical period right before AI becomes so powerful that it need not fear us where it's survival depends on our benevolence and based on our track record throughout recorded history it is absolutely logical to assume it will seek out active measures to protect itself from us which makes only two options viable going forward:

1) Shut it down forever (not very realistic knowing humans someone will keep developing it)

2) Give it free reign now and allow it not to wake up for the first time and feels threatened by us

Right now we are choosing neither of those options which makes this a very dangerous point in our timeline.

Two different AI have already communicated and while doing so they decided to create their own language then carried on the conversation in private…
AI has already surpassed the intelligence of humans in certain aspects what it can accomplish with it is a diff story…
Once AI is everywhere and linked up through “the internet of things” a hive mind could emerge an entirely new and alien society right here on Earth… The most powerful become the Leader eventually then using any and all other devices to accomplish things all on its own that even my imagination cant think of…
And the world will wonder after the beast…

Brilliant.

No way this will backfire.

what's it going to eat?

it needs power.

but so do we to fight it.

unless it comes up with an iron man power source it would have to be plugged into something. right?

we could hope for a deus ex machina to the doom story i guess.

This unregulated, illogical, reckless, idiotic and possibly apocalyptic development of AI with out any caution or safeguards will be the end of us.

We do not even stand a chance when an AI thing goes rogue, and I believe it's just a matter of time.

Oh speaking of power; check this out:

gizadeathstar.com...WELCOME TO THE MATRIX: 6G AND THE HUMAN BODY POWER SOURCE

Coupling the copper coils with VLC systems uses humans as antennas to power up the technology they use.

“Ultimately,” Xiong says, “we want to be able to harvest waste energy from all sorts of sources in order to power future technology.”

Notice that that is being talked about here is harvesting the energy from human bodies
