According to the police the old guy said the guy was pulling at the exterior door handle. Lester did call 911 from his home phone right after he fired the shots. Yarl told the cops he didn't touch the exterior screen door but the finger prints on the front door weren't the home owners. This article has the probable cause statement form by the police in it. The cops want an interview with Yarl but apparently at least until yesterday his mother isn't returning their calls.

If I ring someone's doorbell, and they don't answer, I open their screen door and knock. He thought he was at the right house. A house occupied by people his parents and siblings knew.

Well if that doesn't make you the second most racist poster today after Mr. TruthSupremacy or whatever.
Let's be real- If you have to frame your response in racism and white supremacy, you are just as bad as he is.
What purpose is there to reporting race here until it is established that it was an actual factor ... which has yet to determined unless the press conference changed things.
How awful of white people to simply want to live in their own countries.
So far, none of the 'woke' geniuses here have been able to explain why it is wrong for white people to have their own countries. Would you like to start with that, since you apparently think it's wrong? Why isn't it wrong for Koreans to have their own country? Have you never looked at photos of Korean crowds? No 'diversity' there. Aren't they 'full of hate' then?
guess how countries become that way, not through peaceful coexistence, but through genocide, exploitation, oppression, forced cultural assimilation, imperialism, etc for thousands of years, so yes it is wrong for one race of people to want a nation for their own people only, that's called racial or cultural superiority, its inherently discriminatory and vicious to other races or cultures.

Fair enough.
If im 80, live alone and sleep with a firearm handy, having my doorbell ring after 10pm would make me grab it too. And if I then hear my storm door opening, assume the worst.
I wonder why the sibling and parents both know where the actual house is, but not the teen who went to pick them up.

sometimes called "line in the sand" or "no duty to retreat" law, provides that people may use deadly force when they reasonably believe it to be necessary to defend against certain violent crimes.
Sure, but I wasn't aware ringing a doorbell is a violent crime to defend yourself against.
i bet he won't be ringing any door bells himself, anytime soon remember the last time?
on the other hand, a couple pulled into a driveway to turn around and the home owner shot the girl dead in the passenger seat.
but she was white so won't hear much about it.
girl sjhot
I certainly mentioned it here and it's all over news and social media. However no one is complaining about showing old cheerleading pics or questioning whether she was planning on robbing the place. Notice you didn't mention that she "wouldn't be pulling in any driveways soon" either.
Just happened again in Texas where a cheerleader was shot after she attempted to get in the wrong car in a parking lot thinking it was hers. She quickly got back into the other car with her friend, but the guy came over and shot her. She appears mixed though, so you might complain about her photo and what she was really doing instead of it being a mistake.

I'm wondering why two kids under 10 are at their friends house past 10. Unless my son is staying the night at his friend's house, I'd never let him impose on the parents of his friend past 8. That's not very responsible in my opinion.

Yes. If the man told them he had a possible intruder. If he had in fact told the kid to leave and he didn't and stayed that's technically trespassing. Maybe he should have asked who was at the door. And there is another question. How many perps knock at the door in a home invasion? I would imagine not many. The fact that someone was bothering to knock and not just trying to break in should have required the homeowner to be cautious. People have shot family members dead in exactly the same scenario as this.

We have lots of questions, yes. The few answers we have conflict with the reporting.
Meanwhile, the kid has been home and the mother is not letting him talk, last I knew.
In the face of all this, the govt has already chosen a side and the media has weaponized it.
Automatic mistrial IMO, due to the actions of the gov't the guy won't be allowed a fair trial.

so you are saying ,
that's how it's been done for thousands of years and a natural thing and now we
should swim upstream?
“[Biden] asked Ralph great questions about his musical background and shared stories about his own family playing similar instruments. He asked Ralph about his mother and family and shared heartwarming stories about his own mother and family. They talked about academics, the world, and much more,” King wrote.
“The family expected that call to last for 2-3 minutes but they loved talking to each other so much that it carried on for about an hour,” he said, adding, “It was a surprising and special moment. Ralph was invited to the White House.”
The gruesome shooting has made international headlines as gun violence continues to plague the U.S., where firearms vastly outnumber residents. Two other instances of young people being shot on sight within days of Yarl’s injury — one in New York state and another in Texas — further underscored the issue.

Not the point. If you look at any news media you would think he was shot in the head with an ARR and double tapped with a 45....(sarcasm noted)

Kid looks good after being shot in the head...
it was a 32 caliber tiny little gun so of course he survived.
