Hmmmm.... that's quite an interesting thing for you to say considering you were just defending taxes so high that even simulated people will revolt and refuse to accept it. Here's something very important I want you to understand: the more power we give over to the government, the less freedom and liberty we will have. This is just a fact of reality, a nanny state government always wants more control over people, and it's "for their own good of course"... I don't want or need a socialist nanny state run by neurotic control freaks who think they have a right to invade every aspect of my life and make important decisions for me because I'm too dumb.

It's the very antithesis of liberty, because it is authoritarianism, and it's very clear for anyone living in a western nation, that we are rapidly heading towards a more authoritarian style of government because the masses are being brainwashed to think capitalism is the root of all evil and the only solution is to embrace excessive amounts of socialism, while giving up our most sacred human rights such as our ability to freely travel or decide what goes into our own bodies. So forgive me if I find it highly laughable when you sit their claiming to value liberty, while at the same time promoting philosophies which fundamentally erode our liberty.

I'm not sure you meant it but written In that context you sound like you approve of serfdom and slavery, which was what liberalism used to claim was the end state of capitalism when it merged with socialism.

in the modern context the green parties manifestos are based on that liberal fear of a return to medieval serfdom.. and of populations stabilised at much lower rates than now with rules to lock serfs into their allotted towns/villages.

within that they place numbers on stabilised populations, in the UK the plan was to reduce it to 30million from 56m at the time..

until recently even the left understood you can't get those kinds of population reductions without operating some form of extermination process.. its especially evident when talking the numbers that need removing from the gene pool as tens or hundreds of millions, or in more recent idiocy in terms of billions, thats without even going into the process of who get picked for eradication..

there is a reason why you can't get "happy healthy sustainable self-sufficient communities" and that's because they would be filled with humans.. the best we can hope for is the kind of tolerance modern politics has removed from the world..

I'm deeply grateful I grew up in a tolerant city that has sadly since fallen to the modern divisions..

its a numbers game, the early green blueprint is to reduce populations to sustainable levels and then lock the remainder into allotted areas as thinking goes it uses medieval serfdom as the model to follow..

the broken thinking is these are all those who believe they'll becomes the lords of manors not the serfs.. they think their lives will be improved as they'll get the good food, all the toys all the travel while being waited on hand and foot by serfs grateful for the chance to live..

as a fantasy world its also the key reason it'll fail when it meets the real world, which is what we are seeing evolve at different rates around the world..

Currently it's the left-leaning intelligentsia who are telling us we must confine ourselves to a 15 minute radius around our homes or be punished with fines. They're telling us we must confine ourselves to a heavily restricted diet and actively working to destroy farms and farmers, especially those who farm livestock, but also those who farm plants through nitrogen restrictions which leaves less available food for everyone and far less variety ... but they are generously allowing us to replace that with bugs. We won't be able to grill or use gas stoves for cooking as those are deemed too polluting. They are restricting us to electric power only, but then restricting us to forms of electricity that are highly unreliable and not adequate for our needs, so you better hope you want to eat when you have power and that your food cooks within the daily allowed cooking time and that you don't need to recharge your car more than you need to eat or work that day.

So I am not seeing this "happy, healthy, self-sustainable" future they are promising you. I am seeing life in a prison on starvation rations of bugs.

A big reason why the left's version of utopia can never be reached is because whatever idea they have ends up spiraling out of control into total chaos.

Take gender dysphoria: It very quickly went from recognizing that people have this and treating them still with respect in working to understand their issues, and using the other gender pronouns for them at least as part of understanding, into some clown world of extremism. Now we have 100s of pronouns, kids can transform at will, trans are now biologically the other sex in all aspects of life, women are now just a person with a uterus, Governments are forcing people by law to use the pronoun that people randomly want, Woman of the year was a man not too long ago, add 100s of more craziness, and this is just one example of just about everything that the left gets their hands on.

Common sense would say you need an equal mix of left and right to achieve anything. However in the real world both political parties in the US are doing eveything they can to destroy that common sense.

We aren't even speaking the same language anymore.

Equality for one group means everyone gets to the same place at the same time with the same stuff while the other group is merely wanting everyone to play by the same rules - well obviously just playing by the same rules doesn't mean we all end in the same place.

And the differences in what we talk about goes on and on and on. If we can't even agree on the language we are using, we can't communicate.
