The Jesus of the Bible was a communist. If you aren't a communist, then you are anti-Christ.

Communisim is anti Christ.

They hate God.

You are more then slightly confused. Go to China and see how Christians are treated. They are detained, tortured, and murdered.

This thread is silly at best.
Guess who inspired it?

Silly is not the word I would use, but it works.
More like a troll fest, put on by a poster with a victim mentality. They have no idea about context.
They took one verse, out of 31,102 verses, and tried to claim it was meant for all instead of the individual it was intended for.

Capitalism is the business of serving others, if you don't agree then you are selfish and greedy and just want free stuff.

If there are some ATS yearly awards, I want to candidate my thread to the category:

Thread which caused more cognitive dissonance among deluded people.

Its a two way street not a one time event, people can choose to join in if they want.

Doing for yourself equates to doing for others if they want that "stuff"

LOL. Sounds like Karl Schwab and the WEF: Sell everything you own and be happy. I wonder if he is a "Christian", lol.

I guess that, knowing how resolved I am, if I was a Christian, I would sell even my pets and give it all to the community. But I don't practice this faith, which doesn't stop me from reading the bible with objetive eyes. However, some people here actually think that I'm working for Satan and China (which apparently is the same thing, for many).

want to sell your soul for some Chinese food?

Oh, no, that just won't do!

You see, according to the ideology behind the OP, Christians are required to abide by non-Christians' personal interpretation of whatever verse they choose to use. Non-Christians are not subject to these requirements; they just get to make the special rules for Christians (because all Christians are evil, donchaknow?).

I mean, it totally makes sense for those who don't understand the religion (and who don't want to understand the religion) to tell those who have lived the religion and spent time studying it how it all works.

You seem to have resolved confused with obtuse, they are not the same. You have outed yourself as not Christian and claim to read the Bible objectively, but apparently, you don't understand the Word.

The Word says quite, literally:

And Jesus said: “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (Matthew 19:21)

What is there to not understand? I get it, your cognitive dissonance is troubling you, sorry for that.

So.....
What exactly are you going on about?
You are not a Christian, yet you try and tell Christians you know their faith better than they do, by quoting one verse.
That is terribly moronic on your behalf.
Are you such a small person and so insecure in your own beliefs (or lack there of) you have to belittle others for theirs?

"If YOU want to be perfect", who was Jesus talking too?

He was telling a rich man what HE needed to do to be perfect.
You already know this, though. Your intentions here are clear for all to see.
You talk about "loving everyone and blah, blah, blah" with everything but that in your heart.
Petty.

So, if like you say, these words of Jesus are simply anecdotal for that particular "rich guy" he was talking to, why is it in the Bible? Does the bible is archiving stupid things that have no importance? Why didn't the bible record the conversations between Jesus and his local bartender? Illogical. The Bible is the law through which Christians are supposed to achieve salvation, not a reality show of Jesus' conversations with random people. If it is in the bible, it's because it's a lesson for everybody.

By the way, you clearly haven't read the bible, or these passages of Matthew. Right after talking to the "rich guy", Jesus tells his own followers (the poor fishermen) that they ALL needed to do the same if they wanted to achieve salvation. That whole segment of the bible is about how to achieve the salvation of everyone's soul. Not just about that "rich guy".

And you can see this when the Jesus' way of life, and that of his christian followers, are described in Acts. They all lived in as sort of "communist hippie" community, with no private property, distributing what they had:

“And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.” (Acts 4: 32–35)

I would advise you that you refrain from trying to use arguments, clearly that's not your strength. Better keep insulting, clearly that's your best skill. Besides the fact that you are denying Jesus when doing so (remember the "do not judge"?). Anyway, the point of my thread was to expose people like you, and others that engaged in the same type of behavior. Thanks for showing exactly what I tried to show, couldn't have done it better.

Much love

So, with your "logic", you need to be a Hobbit or an Elf to understand the book of the "Lord of the Rings"?.... The level of the cognitive dissonance is reaching rock bottom at this point.

C'mon people, you're better than this.

Laughing is the best coping mechanism ever, much better and enjoyable than cognitive dissonance. Why not like that from the beginning?

You folks should resort to humor more often.
If you can't laugh on topic, maybe have a laugh at yourself from time to time, instead of making it about the player.
