As I said is this a normal occurrence in the migrant community? if so point out the other times this has happened, this is a particularly heinous act. So heinous it's possible it was revenge for some grievance between the two, would be my first thought, close behind random nutjob unsub. But after those potential subjects and motives who knows the percentages?

I know that just because he hasn't been captured or identified yet, the potential is he is being hidden in the community which would likely point to revenge or community justice. If it was a nutjob, sooner or later somebody will rat them out. The longer this goes the less likely it's just a nutjob though.
At least it sounds as if the community is being open about the attack.

Is it more heinous than if the man stabbed him to death? I don't think he was trying to kill him and was "teaching him a lesson" of some kind. We also do not know the full extent to his burns as in is he out of the hospital right now walking around?

Burning, hot oil, stoning, beating with a cane, head cut off, body parts cut off etc.... All are justifiable correction tools or death penalties in many muslin countries. What we would call western Muslim is much different than let's say in small villages in Iraq. When we look at EU in general, they have had very large immigration over the last decade or so that most view today as too much too fast, and so those cultural trends in the old country leak over in EU.

That would depend on how fast the flames were doused i suppose, the reports suggest the burns were quite serious, as is any injury really where 82-year-old pensioners are concerned.

The elderly victim was taken to hospital with severe burns to his neck, back, ears and hand after the attack outside the West London Islamic Center in Ealing.

Says he's out of the hospital but I'm not seeing where it says he's walking around.

He's probably quite heavily medicated and been told to get some rest would be my guess.

I neither agree as to there being a reason for the mad bastard's actions or disagree.

Hopefully, the 82-year-old man can shed some light as to the why of it all.

The real problem now seems to be the fact that the man has yet to be apprehended, meaning he's still walking around free and could do it to someone else, or even worse.
