I agree war is murder, its horrendous.

But that in no way means we should allow ourselves to be desensitised to the bludgeoning to death with a sledgehammer of anyone.
Not particularly 'saddened' more disgusted at the brutal nature of the execution and the spectacle made of it - a bit reminiscent of those awful ISIS killings etc.

I think convicted murderers/sex offenders should be locked up for the rest of their lives, no ifs or buts.
I question the morality of releasing murderers and nonces etc for anything, including giving them a chance for freedom in return for going to war.
