Wagner-affiliated channel reports another extrajudicial killing of recruit with sledgehammer

Barbarians are barbaric , Wagner once again display their barbarism with another extrajudicial killing of one of their own soldiers with a sledgehammer , Dmitry Yakushchenko was recruited in one of Wagner's prisoner recruitment drives but after a few days of combat decided it wasn't for him , recaptured by his former comrades his "trial" and execution were filmed and posted to the GREY ZONE Telegram channel.

“Like his colleague Yevgeny Nuzhin earlier, [Yakushchenko] got the same disease that makes you lose consciousness in Ukrainian cities, first in Kyiv, now in Dnipro, and then wake up in a basement to his last court hearing,” the Telegram channel captioned the video of his killing.

Yakushchenko was born in Crimea and had multiple criminal records. His latest conviction for robbery and murder had put him behind bars for 19 years. From the penal colony, he joined the Wagner PMC, and according to GREY ZONE, defected to Ukraine after four days of combat.In captivity, Yakushchenko gave an interview and confessed that he had immediately planned to escape and had done so near Bakhmut. He also said that Crimea would be Ukrainian again. The video is made up of two clips, the first showing Yakushchenko's interview from captivity, and the second including footage signed as “trial for treason”. The prisoner himself says that he got hit and blacked out in Dnipro, and then found himself at the place of execution. How exactly the captive mercenary ended back with the PMC is unclear

Let me get this straight:

Russia conscripts a convicted murderer to fight in Ukraine. Expecting this upstanding citizen to behave with military professionalism, the leave him unsupervised enough to defect to Ukraine. Which, surprisingly, he does.

But Russia, who by all MSM accounts is getting their butts handed to them, has enough of an intelligence network in Ukraine to locate this guy, kidnap him, and bring him to a dingy basement for a kangaroo court trial. He is brutally executed, and the whole affair is recorded on video and posted online because it's good war propaganda and casts Russia in good light both at home and abroad.

Sounds totally legit.

Could use more of a "babies in incubators being bayoneted" feel to it, though. Maybe next time, make the conscript a rabbi who was opposed to the war instead of a convicted murderer. Way more sympathy and outrage value.

The fact they have to conscript shows how on board the citizens are, or lack there of.

To be fair, Ukraine is conscripting too, but offense and defense is going to carry different attitudes.

So if you’re forcing people to serve, are there going to be isolated incidents of insubordination and excess power against such? Probably.

Who knows, maybe this story is propaganda, maybe it’s true, both are plausible imo.

My favorite part is where no actual evidence is provided. That makes the accusation more believable.
The good news only fake evidence is presented of Ukrainian war crimes with fake identitys to go with them.

I understand being outraged about man's inhumanity to man.

What I don't understand is the kind of hypocrisy that always sees it elsewhere but never cares when it's their own country's evil deeds for "democracy" or some such. They never ask, "How did we get here and how do we avoid it in the future?" They never own the crap on their own national plate.

It's like ISIS beheading videos except Gallagher the comedian is the executioner.

Well, someone in the Russians made a video of castrating a Ukrainian POW with a scalpel then executing them sometime later via gunshot so I guess they do these things. Then you have CNN interviewing two captured Wagners covering their faces for fear of this kind of fate.

From Wagner's perspective, this is how they keep their people in line, or try to anyway. They recently said they're not recruiting from prisons anymore, I guess it started to become a problem. Could you imagine if the USA had a mercenary company that executed it's defectors in gruesome ways on camera and our government didn't care, let them be and utilized them on the battlefield? This is their values.

I'm sure someone pro-Russia will reply saying the US funds and recruits Jihadists, maybe even created ISIS itself which isn't really true. If any of it were partially true, the difference is that Wagner is open and known among Russian society and government that they do what they do, they don't care about it. Pretty sick but I guess the government is like a giant mafia with a boss.

We have no idea what we're looking at. No source of facts, just a narrative to go with a video, that may or may not be authentic.
