A man has been arrested on live TV in the US state of Indiana after his four-year-old son, appearing to wear a nappy, was seen waving a gun.
Shane Osborne, 45, was charged with neglect after neighbours reported a child in a hallway carrying what they believed to be a handgun, police said.
The arrest was filmed on the TV show On Patrol: Live.
The show aired surveillance video allegedly showing the boy playing with a weapon and even pulling the trigger.
Neighbour Nicole Summers told local station WTHR that she called police after the boy came to her door and pointed a pistol at her son.
"My son, he opened the door and then shut it and backed away and he was like, 'Uh...baby with a gun. Get out of here, get out of here!'" said Mrs Summers.
While the officers were still on the scene, a neighbour came forward to the officers with surveillance video. The video showed the young child in the hallway with what appeared to be a real firearm.
Police then found the firearm in Mr Osborne's apartment and he was arrested. It was later found that there were 15 bullets in the gun's magazine, but luckily, there was no round in the chamber.

Yes. There is a pattern. But don't stop with these stories. Especially not this one with the news crew on scene ready to send the whole thing "Live". In real "Truman Show" style delivery, straight into your hands.
I woke up this morning and was reading just the "Recent" post page, and I was overcome with such a sense of anger. Here I am starting my day with such negativity.
No wonder we do nothing as a people, as the hate, darkness, and hopelessness consumes us. We consume so much hate, evil, anger and selfishness, that we are too weighed down in mind and spirit, to be able to see the pattern. To reject and to fight the pattern.
We are not clones, we are not sheep. We are creatures of habit. We have been slowly, and insidiously programmed and conditioned to believe, think, feel, and respond, exactly the way they want us to.
It is the start of a New Year. I am going to at least try to make a better me. I see the pattern. I am going to at least try to make a better one. Hopefully I will be able to unravel the one that has ensnared me.
Call me out if you see me participating in anymore posts that are click bait, negative, promoting or supporting,
any kind of bigotry, racial division, or just plain negative in any way.
I can't change anything, until I at least try to change myself.
Time to go back into lurking mode. Time to give more of my time and attention to home, family, community, and the critters.
I am not leaving, I am just going to try to be the change and fight the pattern.
Thanks for your post. It is just what I needed this morning. A subtle reminder, that we choose to be controlled.

I saw that. I hadn't heard that the father was arrested, but I am relieved to hear he was. My heart stopped for a few beats when I saw that video.
Luckily, that father took one common-sense precaution: the gun was unloaded and the chamber was empty. He forgot another one, though: at least put the gun out of sight of a child that young! Not to mention, why was this 4-year-old allowed to wander the streets after dark? That sounds like serious child neglect right there. Parents are supposed to at least watch their children!
Education, education, education!

It was later found that there were 15 bullets in the gun's magazine, but luckily, there was no round in the chamber.
I bet the kid wasn't strong enough to chamber a bullet.

The parents of a 6-year-old boy in Virginia who shot his first-grade teacher in class earlier this month are speaking out about their son and the violent incident, saying they were responsible gun owners who kept firearms out of children’s reach.
“The firearm our son accessed was secured,” the parents said in a statement to BuzzFeed News via their attorney, James Ellenson. The statement didn’t explain how the child gained access to the weapon and managed to bring it to school.
The parents said the boy who shot teacher Abby Zwerner has an “acute disability” and was under a care plan that required at least one of his parents to be in his classroom every day.
The shooting happened during the first week neither parent accompanied the child in class, according to the statement.
The Virginia teacher who was shot by a 6-year-old student repeatedly asked administrators for help with the boy but officials downplayed educators’ warnings about his behavior, including dismissing his threat to light a teacher on fire and watch her die, according to messages from teachers obtained by The Washington Post.
