I was just wondering where in the world you would choose to live, and why, limited only by:

1. Any location is fine regardless of your financial status, with living standards as you live now or up to standard conditions. (Basically, no unrealistic upgrades)

2. Realistic and Inhabitable areas by todays common standards...Hence not space, moon, ocean floor, cloud city...etc.

3. All current political and social events are the same as they are now, with future events unknown to the same degree as they are now...(obviously, some users here view the world quite different than others so this rule can vary slightly)

4. Current location not needed, but welcomed.

5. Why, you choose the location?

Hmmm, great question....

I'd pick Cuba, because it is generally a nice part of the world (climate and such), and I like the fact that they have constantly battled the US's sanctions and attacks.......I dunno, it's just my country of choice. Plus, Che Guevara helped set up the country as it is today, and Che was the best.......I have to go there, if not live there...

I'm already there... Manhattan. No other place in the world like it.

I choose it because it (also the center of New York City) is the most diverse, culturally astute, liveable, likeable, and formidable place in the world. There are more languages spoken in NYC than any other city in the world. 2 million people live on Manhattan, and 11 million commute to work here every day.

Every penny I save is going to a sweet-spot on the Carribean side!

woohoo!

White beaches, turquoise waters, WONDERFUL people and culture (everything is so much slower). I'm there baby. Not nothin' unrealistic about this. Me and sweetie are headed that way!

London, baby! I spent last summer there, and had the time of my life. there's so much to see and do, and it's so easy to travel to the rest of Europe there. not to mention they speak English, and 98% of what I do is talk, so that's a big issue
I live in Detroit, MI, USA right now, and plan on leaving as soon as I can. Detroit will always be home, but it just doesn't offer enough for me right now.

Singapore. Perfect weather year-round. To boot, lots of hot Chinese women.

i'd chose a cottage on a lake in northern ontario, nice and peaceful and quiet, on a beautiful lake away from all the problems in the city

Somewhere cool and damp, with mostly cloud coverage instead of direct sunlight. A light mist 24/7 would be welcome.
Any ideas?

I now live in the southeastern U.S., the temperature is going to be in the upper 90's next month with blistering sun patiently waiting to give me melanoma. The heat saps every ounce of energy straight though the very pores.

Yep......Wales. If you're looking for the mist, then the mountain areas of wales are perfect. Quiet, misty, cool, damp........just don't come down from the mountains, because the rest of Wales is far less pretty.......
