Moon no longer aligns with current calender - Earth is speeding up

The Moon cycles are not as constant as the cycles for the Sun.

While the Sun has clear solstices, for example, the Moon has a maximum and minimum positions to set and rise but it changes a lot between those.

Some years ago I read a book about the possible use of Stonehenge as a Moon calendar and they explained the different cycles and extreme apparent positions of the Moon on the horizon at different times.

It's something I've never looked into but figured it worthy of mention

I'm going by memory of a documentary and other bits and bobs I've picked up over the years, following cycles isn't my thing. I think it's the 18.6 year lunar cycle I was alluding to (not 2-3 generations) which coincides with a 33 year lunar-sol cycle.

The whole "people knew the world was round" part is definitely an assumption on my end, hindsight makes answers a bit blatant. I do like to theorise though...

Navigation and the stars go hand in hand too. If so many cultures kept stumbling onto the same things the why's might vary too, even if the answers are the same.

Drifting way off topic so I'll leave the mysticism out. There's a reason to dress up as a deer or to know the moon though, it obviously meant a bit more than brighter nights and tides to people back in the day.

So does the moon's orbit change in conjunction with the changing in the earth's tilt changes?

IF no then it can't possibly be crossing the plane of the Earth at the same place and speed it did 20,000 years ago.

IF yes what causes the moon's orbit to do this?

The dark ages were after the fall of Rome. They are referred to as the 'dark ages' because very little history was recorded(in the West at least) during that period.

China for example, didn't have a dark age as they've been recording history for thousands of years.

And during the "dark ages" some important things, mostly related to agriculture, were invented, like the modern harness, that instead of the older version that constrained the neck of the horse a little, rests on the horse's shoulders and allows it to use its full strength.

Feels like time is speeding up.

Go find a local observatory and ask the staff there if they have been losing synchronization with the celestial sphere.

They will look at you funny, perhaps laugh and then you can go home and forget about ever doing that again.

Someone posted a long time ago about something similar to this, but the Sun setting or maybe it was sunrise. It all depends on our location. I too have noticed living in the west the Sun setting very North North region and Living here in this place I have never seen the Sunset that far North. Sunset rays coming through a window that never gets Sunlight blasting through the window at that odd angle. It was eerie enough for me to take a mental note of it and then someone posted that thread and I brought that up as well and replied. During the summer there is longer light hours, but this was abnormally long where the sun should be down not still in the sky going down late in the evening and rays coming in the window that have never before. This was like a strange 2-3 day maybe a week thing and it never happen since then.I don't know maybe a celestial pull happen in planet alignments at some other point in history or early that year maybe altered our orbit slightly and it just corrected itself over time as we slingshot around the Sun. I live in Oregon and we're known for beautiful sunset's etc, but I never seen sunlight that late in the evening hit my wall in the living room like that in ever since then in the 15 years of living here. I don't live like a hermit I open my curtains lol.

The calendar months are all 30-31 days long (except Feb), while the lunar cycle takes around 29 days. The two don't align, which is why the dates of the full moon have always been different every month.

Seems many cultures attributed significance to the passing of the gates. I imagine from an ancient POV sites like Stonehenge would've tracked what meant something to them.

Cursus ways often accompanied henges in the UK. Idk what they were doing back then but the land itself seemingly played a highly significant role.
