In a group on Facebook for women in the church, she has made apparent references to her son several times.

Voepel (shooters grandfather) , who made a comment to a local newspaper comparing the Jan. 6 attacks to the Revolutionary War, lost his run for reelection during the August primaries. Aldrich's mother, Laurel Voepel, seemingly approved of her father's politics, writing "keep up the good work Dad" in a Facebook post that predated Jan. 6.

Nothing like that has been reported here locally in Colorado Springs. Any speculation on who he is or what he's "about" is just that: unfounded speculation.

Police have yet to release a statement establishing motive. It's frustrating for those of us who live in this community, though the investigation is only within its first 28 hours at this point.

LGBT are not being 'targeted'. The whacko decided to shoot up a bar. Bars are shot up every weekend and no one cares to be honest. There is no need to politicize or call for gun control.

Tragic but awesome there were lives saved due to the courage of those who were there.

I have said this many times that every time they push a shooting like this we are talking a typical weekend in Chicago, and no one seems to care.

Yep. About 1/4 of America is on some type of medicine for mental health. Imagine if that were a disqualifier.
