The big red wave that did not happen!

Republicans cast 6 million more votes than Democrats but did not flip all those seats. A difference of 6.1% I guess redistricting worked again and the voice of the voter was not heard either. A lot of those close races also were not blow outs.

We are just very polarized as a nation right now.

Long winded post to say political parties will always make more of some things than is really there .

Keep in mind these are the same people that basically force their president and other democrats to tell people how Christian they are

This reminds me of how Biden won in 2020 with less districts than Obama, by about over 100 less districts?, and somehow still won and got more votes than Obama himself and more than Trump when Trump got more LEGAL votes than any other President in U.S. history, including Obama.

All that democrats had to do, again, was concentrate in stealing a few precincts to take over new York.

We add to the debt when the annual budget runs over the amount of taxes taken in. If we happen to take in more taxes than we spend we reduce the debt.

Deficit under Trump skyrocketed up. He did a lot to try to cut spending in certain area's but his tax cuts, plus other budgetary concerns exploded the deficit even before Covid.

Just to give you some background here and believe me Obama had some doozies in office as well.

2016 Deficit - $587 Billion (Obama)
2017 Deficit - $666 Billion (Obama)
2018 Deficit - $770 Billion (Trump)

Hey I'm not blaming Trump for the handouts under Covid. Companies were laying off people everywhere, the economy stalled.. Something had to be done - Did they overstimulate - well heck yes but always easy to Monday morning quarterback after the dust has settled.

Deficit has been largely reduced under Biden. Granted many people believe he should have had larger reductions than he has attained, but before you use this are your ammo against a BIden admin - realize that Trump blasted the debt and increased the deficit. The only presidents that outpaced him were George W and Lincoln.

If there is an annual deficit budget shortfall because we don’t bring in enough revenue from taxes then my oh my what do we do?

Well we issue what are called Treasury bonds to fund our government which is basically getting loans from foreign countries, pension funds, hedge funds and good ol joe six pack in his 401k! We used to get fantastic interest rates on these loans the past 20 years but now because of inflation
Rates are going up and up which means soon very very soon interest on the United States Debt will be 2nd biggest line item on our budget overtaking the Dept of Defense!

In other words it’s costing the USA wayyyy more money to service our debt then it did even 2 years ago. It’s like your credit card going from 8.99% for $15000 in debt to 29.9%.
Time to get a new phone number so the debt collectors can’t find you! Throw that credit card bill in the trash! Your minimum payment went from $500 a month to $3000 a month!!

Wait there is more! Guess who stoppped buying US Treasury bonds the past two years! Russia and China and Japan and the whole world.

Wonder why rates are going up on Treasury bonds? Because the rest of the world is freaked out about our debt and the strong dollar and is worried they will be paid back with worthless inflated dollars so they said PEACE OUT to
Us Treasury bonds.

Wait there is more! So who is buying the treasury bonds to finance our government now?
WE ARE of course. THE FEDERAL RESERVE.
It’s called the monetization of the debt and now you know where the inflation is coming from. Inflation feeds on itself in an ever expanding Ponzi scheme.


To sum it up: The USA is printing money out of thin air and loaning that money to itself to fund half our annual budget.

Backing mostly incumbents and safe seats doesn't make you captain amazing when they retain their seats.

It is undeniable to anyone who understands anything about the history and expectations of the mid terms, that this was a disaster for republicans. It was an awful, awful performance. And that's with a potus who is basically absent.

Trump is poison and he's done. He can sob and wail on truth social about fox and desantis all he likes, but he's reduced to being a bitter angry old man repeating the same points time and again at ever-smaller cult rallies.

This was a disastrous performance for republicans. To claim otherwise means you either don't understand, you're in denial, or simply you're being disingenuous.

Accept it and move on. It's a message and a wake up call.

Incorrect; all the polls leading up to the election and the exit polls during the election showed that the Republican messaging was on par; which is why everyone, including Democrats expected them to do better.

The truth of the matter is that Tribalisum prevented people from voting on the issues. Politics has become a sport and people vote in order for their team to win.

The slim margins show us that their a lot less "independents" than is generally thought.

That might be a good thing for Democrats this time around because they didn't lose as bad as they would have otherwise. But its certainly bad for the country.
