it's released and pretty much every platform you can purchase videos on, 19.99...

not insanely priced but I know I wouldnt watch it more than once.

Yeah, but if I'm paying $19.99 I want a PHYSICAL copy.

Thanks for that!
You just forced me to notice how far I've slid into "digital land".
I'd actually forgotten about "hard copies" of movies.

Hope it pans out to be a decent watch, so many on the topic promise but end up lacking.

I don't think you understand. There's just too much evidence that it's all been a lie. The conspiracy is not to hide the existence of extraterrestrials. It's to make people believe in it so completely that they question nothing.

Personally....I do not watch shows about UFO.s....I only believe what I have experienced....which are private moments in time and space.

Fox makes the best ufo docs and i've seen all of his, he's a class act and i've been waiting a while to see this one. If it's only available for 19.99 I guess i will wait a little longer. It will be available for rent on NOV 1, but I have been scouring the net for a copy that you don't have to buy. I guess he is trying to sell as many copies as possible before offering it for rent. Dude really takes the time and effort to do these as he worked on his others for years before releasing them. His interview on podcast ufo is also worth a listen if anyone finds the time.

Wisdom. While it's obviously true that ego & money come into play, it appears to me, loufo, that most of the ufological cast of characters seem to have interesting connections that suggests more at play here.

No, we're being primed for something much bigger than the $19.99 I'm about to pay to watch this.

Friend, I would really enjoy it if you would be willing to expand on this.

I've always enjoyed James Fox' documentaries, and considered him... I don't know, as objective as one could be in this mess? However, it would be really disappointing if he suddenly went kooky in the same respect as Greer did at one point.

Hey Gut - nice to see you making a new thread

This case pops up in the forgotten-languages pages now and then, along with the term 'Giselians'...not that that means anything significant, necessarily.

Here's the strange thing that popped in to my head as I was reading the OP:

Considering 1996 is 'fairly' recent as UFO cases go - and not knowing how far genetics technology had gotten (DARPA-wise) by then -
I wonder if the 'beings' were experiments in genetic 'super soldiers' gone 'wrong'?

And maybe the 'crafts' that were witnessed were part of a 'psyop' to obfuscate the trail, so to speak..

That is good information, thank you!

Life pulled me away from it 30-mins in yesterday, but I've got it cued up and will hopefully be able to finish it and give a few thoughts.

Brazil has definitely had some of the more interesting UFO cases---might be a good idea to revisit some of those incidents before watching the film.

Hi, my friend! Thank you, but I know it's not much of a thread. However, I do hope to add some interesting content here if I can get it together.

As far as your thoughts, like I said above Brazil has some of the more interesting--and ominous--incidents in all of ufology.

It tugs at me because, as I mentioned previously, my dual fascination with Ufology proper and it's ugly abuser: UFO Psy-Ops. Having said that, here's some from one of those interesting South American cases:

The Villas Boas case is one said to be instigated by a CIA/military psy-operation, according to DoD/CIA operative Bosco Nedelcovic, who told me the story in the late 1970s. Nick Redfern covers the account in his book Contactees [Chapter 20].

Nedelcovic presented a scenario that’s hard to accept by some but readily accepted by those who’ve studied the machinations of the CIA and military the so-called psychological operations.

Villas Boas was, Nedelcovic said, collected by a special unit whose purpose was to create simulated alien contact. The unit operated in South America, with the help of A.I.D. and also in Great Britain, where Nedelcovic said they were part of the infamous Scoriton contact with a man named Bryant.

Villas-Boas Tryst ~ Courtesy of the U.S.A.?

Of course that's just one side of the fascinating story, but it is a consideration.

Antônio Vilas-Boas[note 1] (1934–1991) was a Brazilian farmer (later a lawyer) who claimed to have been abducted by extraterrestrials in 1957…At the time of his alleged abduction, Antônio Vilas-Boas was a 23-year-old Brazilian farmer who was working at night to avoid the hot temperatures of the day.[4]

On October 16, 1957, he was ploughing fields near São Francisco de Sales when he saw what he described as a "red star" in the night sky. According to his story, this "star" approached his position, growing in size until it became recognizable as a roughly circular or egg-shaped aerial craft, with a red light at its front and a rotating cupola on top.

The craft began descending to land in the field, extending three "legs" as it did so. At that point, Boas decided to run from the scene.

According to Boas, he first attempted to leave the scene on his tractor, but when its lights and engine died after traveling only a short distance, he decided to continue on foot.[5] However, he was seized by a 5-foot-tall (150 cm) humanoid, who was wearing grey coveralls and a helmet. Its eyes were small and blue, and instead of speech it made noises like barks or yelps. Three similar beings then joined the first in subduing Boas, and they dragged him inside their craft.

Once inside the craft, Boas said that he was stripped of his clothes and covered from head-to-toe with a strange gel. He was then led into a large semicircular room, through a doorway that had strange red symbols written over it. (Boas claimed that he was able to memorize these symbols and later reproduced them for investigators.) In this room the beings took samples of Boas' blood from his chin.

After this he was then taken to a third room and left alone for around half an hour. During this time, some kind of gas was pumped into the room, which made Boas become violently ill.

Shortly after this, Boas claimed that he was joined in the room by another humanoid. This one, however, was female, very attractive, and naked. She was the same height as the other beings he had encountered, with a small, pointed chin and large, blue catlike eyes. The hair on her head was long and white (somewhat like platinum blonde) but her underarm and pubic hair were bright red.[6] Boas said he was strongly attracted to the woman, and the two had sexual intercourse. During this act, Boas noted that the female did not kiss him but instead nipped him on the chin.

When it was all over, the female smiled at Boas, rubbing her belly and gestured upwards.[7] Boas took this to mean that she was going to raise their child in space.[7] The female seemed relieved that their "task" was over, and Boas himself said that he felt angered by the situation, because he felt as though he had been little more than "a good stallion" for the humanoids.[8]

Boas said that he was then given back his clothing and taken on a tour of the ship by the humanoids. During this tour he said that he attempted to take a clock-like device as proof of his encounter, but was caught by the humanoids and prevented from doing so. He was then escorted off the ship and watched as it took off, glowing brightly. When Boas returned home, he discovered that four hours had passed.[9]

He later became a lawyer, married and had four children.[9] He stuck to the story of his alleged abduction for his entire life.[10] Though some sources say he died in 1992, he died on January 17, 1991.[11][12]

Okay, I definitely regret the $19.99. I’d say it’s rental worthy for some of the interviews—which is basically the majority of content.

I found some of them credible enough to establish that some unusual events did happen in the time frame.

Fairly cheesy in parts. Mostly because Fox tries too hard to sensationalize this or that when there’s not much sizzle there.

The ammonia/sulphur smell of the creature is pretty interesting to contemplate. I found the testimony about it consistent and convincing in the ways they described it and how the smell lingered—-in their nose for days even.

Lots of subtitles of course so there's that to consider for some. The search...continues.

Some religious types would say that the creature described is an inhabitant of Hell itself….interesting.

I’m waiting for the eventual Free version. Thanks for your gist.

i don't believe all these guys anymore. elizondo, greer, fox, lazar, knapp etc... it's all about ego and money. they all act like they know the big secrets but are not allowed to say anything or they tell wild things that no one can prove. and that's how it's been going on for decades. these are all just stories. some of which are fundamentally different from each other.

the world is being monitored from top to bottom. in every second. and still no evidence. as much as i wish we already had contact. how much does i have to pay to watch this?

I'm with my new friend Loufo on this one.

They keep telling us "we got Proof" and then we get nothing.

Gettin bored of UFO's now, maybe Godzilla or Bigfoot will show up next..

Pfffffft!

The moment I saw Hynek in the preview, I left it.
I don't believe that guy for a second on anything.
I'm sure it will be good entertainment though.

Just bought a copy on Amazon (ugh)

Just ten minutes into it so far, very exciting stuff, it's reminiscent of older style of UFO documentaries.. James knows how to make these right.

Loving it..

Added:
There's a ton of stuff in this case and details from witnesses and officials in Brazil. Very interesting so far.

ps...like most of these kind of movies, it's NOT about public awareness, it's about profit.

And 20 bucks is rather steep for such an entertainment product (in the fictional genres). Most movie DVD's seem to be under 10 bucks. And you'll get more bang for your buck.

Thanks for heads up - look forward to watching.

You have to wonder… if there is a ufo-psyop unfolding, for whatever agenda, how does the genuine article feel about being misrepresented?

The person alleged to have been misidentified as the alien was a local with learning disabilities.

This is him. He is named as Luiz Antônio de Paula.

Whether the photo was taken before or after the girls report was made isn't known. Is it a true random photo of him or was he asked to pose in a crouch similar to that described by the girls?

That would account for the ammonia sulfur smell.

It’s possible this disabled person smelled of urine, crap, and flatulence….until somebody finally cleaned him up.

Just a thought
