Today it's body shaming to say a woman is fat.....
Ignoring the obvious health dangers...

Fat shaming is pure bigotry. Same as being a racist or an antisemite.
Fat shaming does not help people lose weight and be healthier. It's just bullying for bullying's sake and the bullies who do it don't give a damn about their victims.
Those who can help are those who actually care, not the fat shamers who are no better than any other kind of bigot.
I think there are other reasons for more obesity. Fewer people do physical labor. Fewer people work. People sit in front of computers browsing or playing games instead of being active outdoors. That's the cause. Heck, we don't even see the kids outside playing anymore.
How do we go back? Stop being sedentary and go out and get the world all over you. Don't turn into yet another bigot.
My dad told me when he was growing up in the 30s that he had biscuits and gravy for breakfast every morning...

Yes, much pain can follow calling a woman fat.
Always use distance to negate the first incoming strike and beware wing-women of similar stature.
If you're sat on....it's over.
Instead of motivating people, fat shaming makes them feel terrible about themselves, causing them to eat more and gain more weight ...
...The harmful effects of fat shaming go beyond increased weight gain — which is serious enough.
Here are some other harmful effects supported by studies (6Trusted Source, 7Trusted Source, 8Trusted Source):
Depression. People who are discriminated against due to weight are at a higher risk of depression and other mental issues.
Eating disorders. Fat shaming is linked to an increased risk of eating disorders, such as binge eating.
Reduced self-esteem. Fat shaming is linked to reduced self-esteem.
Others. By causing stress, weight gain, increased cortisol levels, and mental problems, weight discrimination may raise your risk of various chronic diseases.
