What I'm telling you is there is an entire spectrum of military operations short of declared war.

Thus, Soviet pilots could fly against the USAF in the Korean War without war being declared.

And nothing has changed that spectrum since the 1950s. It is absolutely as applicable today as it was back then.

ETA: Yes, I expect something like a DMZ will emerge in which both sides will constantly probe each other's readiness. Not an optimal solution, but it will be much better than conventional warfare all over eastern Ukraine.

Cheers

Well as long as you are sure the MIC will be satisfied with the profit potential of such limited involvement. We can't let the MIC fall behind big Pharma in political influence. At least the MIC kills mostly soldiers or combatants, big Pharma has no such qualms.

Shame about the dire state of Russian logistics, then.

Pretty sure according to some US posters that winning in Ukraine is not a deciding factor.

Meanwhile, Putin seems to be President for life along with Lukashenko.

Don't worry.

Putin will get reelected with 110 % of the vote.

Donbas war is make or break for Putin.

Not Biden.

OK.

With all due respect, that's just bonkers.

Why Bakhmut and Vuhledar? I feel you're naming them just because they are the current thing you happened to read about.

Why would they go to war? I mean what's the benefit? Just seems unnecessary.

www.historynet.com...

The pilot in this incident recently had his award upgraded to a Navy Cross after staying silent for 70 years

Could do something like the Flying Tigers in early days of WWII against the Japanese , recruit recently separated USAF/NAVY
pilots,

Give them some simulator training (which did not exist in WWII) to get them proficiency in the type before sending them to Ukraine

Yeah, would make more sense to service the fighters in another country and have Ukrainian or foreign volunteer pilots fly them in and out of Ukrainian airspace.

There are a number of F16 in the "boneyard" in Tucson aircraft here are regularly refurbed and sold/transferred to foreign
air forces

As the USAF buys more F35, older mo F 16 are retired, many sent to the Boneyard for storage until needed
