21 July Update

The Russian Investigative Committee arrested (nationalist Igor)Girkin on July 21, and Girkin will be held until September 18 on extremism changes.

Russian forces conducted missile and drone strikes against southern Ukraine for a fourth night on July 21 following Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces shot down two of three Kaliber missiles, three of four Iskander missiles, and 13 of 19 Shahed UAVs launched at areas in southern Ukraine and that Russian forces also launched one Kh-22, one S-300 surface-to-air, and six Onyx missiles.

Russia is maneuvering to retain the option of modifying the current (grain) agreement rather than negotiating an entirely new one as it seeks to extract extensive concessions from the West. Vershinin also argued that the July 22, 2022 memorandum underpinning the Black Sea Grain Initiative remains valid because neither Russia nor the United Nations (UN) gave notification about the termination of the memorandum that the UN, Turkey, Russia, and Ukraine signed.

Ukrainian forces continued counteroffensive operations on at least three sectors of the front on July 21 and made gains in some areas. Geolocated footage published on July 21 indicates that Ukrainian forces made gains northeast of Orikhovo-Vasylivka (11km northwest of Bakhmut) and closer to Pryyutne (12km southwest of Velyka Novosilka).

So along with India banning the export of rice, that's forty percent of the world's supply, in a few months along with bad grain harvests and fertilizer shortages, things will become very problematic for staples, I am smelling a rat.

22 July Update

Ukrainian forces continued counteroffensive operations on at least three sectors of the front on July 22. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces conducted counteroffensive operations in the Berdyansk (Zaporizhia-Donetsk Oblast area) and Melitopol directions (western Zaporizhia Oblast).

Ukrainian forces struck a Russian oil depot and ammunition depot in Crimea as part of this Ukrainian pressure campaign. The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on July 22 that Ukrainian forces destroyed an oil depot and ammunition depot near Oktyabrske, Krasnohvardiiske Raion, Crimea. Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian forces also struck an airfield near Oktyabrske where Russian forces have reportedly been stockpiling equipment for a month.

The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces launched only five Shahed drones from the southeast direction – all of which Ukrainian air defense reportedly intercepted – on July 22.

In heavy overnight bombing of Odesa Russia have hit and badly damaged the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral in the city , originally founded in 1794 it was demolished by the Soviets in 1936 but rebuilt in 1999 , seems the Tsar decided to de-build it.

Cultural vandalism.

twitter.com...

As part of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) I wonder how Putin supporting Patriarch Kirill feels about this.

The rat you're smelling is probably Narendra Modi.

Is this how it begins

Wagner fighters want to 'visit' Poland – Lukashenko

source

Russia will say 'wasn't me" Could this have been the plan all along make it look like a rebellion and then send them to Poland ?

They wouldn't want to do that they can't handle Ukraine Poland would end up taking Moscow in a week. Not to mention 300000 NATO troops at the Polish border. Poland and Ukraine working together could beat Russia. IT amazes me how out of touch with reality Putin is he just made a threat to Poland and claims it's Russian territory.

Lukashenko threatens Poland today following Putin's threats yesterday as the two met in St Petersburg , bluster or an indication of things to come ?

I'm starting to come round to the belief that Prigozhin's march to Moscow may well have been a ruse.

More disinformation, threats, and lies. Apparently all Putin knows and Binky of Belarus doesn't seem much smarter.

What Putin's propaganda sets the stage for are Wagner-inspired provocations along the Belarus-Poland border that will probably use the developing world migrants they've shipped there as the fall guys for any NATO reaction.

Hard to believe that after 23 years of running Russia, Putin's stock-in-trade is still tricks he learned as a mid-ranker in the KGB.

If the UN or NATO catches wagner troops there causing trouble it should trigger article 5.

Putin really should try to learn some things from history, what happened the last time Russia invaded Poland?

Yeah, it's hard to believe these two clowns are now threatening Poland. Poland would love to invoke Article 5 of the NATO charter and Ukraine would love it even more. If Putin and Lukashenko want to be deposed, attacking Poland would be the ticket. I think it is just impotent saber rattling.

Having received a dose of US whoop-@ss in Syria, I don't see the Wagner Group looking for more of the same by attacking a NATO country.
