The subject is Mullis criticising faucci.

I am questioning his ability to do so as many of his beliefs are flawed and therefore we must consider that his criticism of fauci may also be flawed.

None of the two you said are correct or qualified arguments. These are your own unsubstantiated claims and strawman arguments.

Mullis didnt have beliefs like you do or anyone else. As an expert he had knowledge.

You are trying unsuccessfully to extrapolate something from something else. Without even showing that his ideas were flawed.

His criticisms or Fauci are separate to his views and ideas in other matters which were qualified unlike yours or others who are not experts or any field or don't even have the basic knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry.

The "journalist" is from a pseudoscience radio show that also has another business selling vitamin pills and diet books.

The entire basis of your post is based on a conversation between a man made climate change denier who claims that you will learn more about him from his astrological readings than you will from his own autobiography and a snake oil salesman.

I never made any such claim that he is infallible or a God type creature. This is a strawman again of yours.

He doesn't need scientific publications to express his personal opinions in an interview with a journalist. His criticisms are regarding Fauci and his inability to understand electron microscopy or the basics of molecular biology as well as how PCR works. He knows better than anyone else as he is the one who discovered it a d got the Nobel Prize.

The claims that Mullis is a crackpot and a charlatan as you are presenting him or a climate change denier, a womaniser, and a recreational drug user (as your sources presenting him) shows how desperate your arguments are. There is nothing into this other than your own takes and repetition of some unsubstantiated claims online.

You have made a range of strawman arguments and you keep going about them as if they give credit to your talks.

Yesterday you also claimed that you know how PCR works because you happen to work in a van for a year testing for Covid-19.... I think you need to watch the videos by Mullis to get an idea what PCR is and how it works.

They are unable to defend their positions so either change their arguments or try to attack personally the scientist using his personal life as a way to extrapolate conclusions about his academic ability.

The video I have posted explains well why Fauci and others don't understand now electron microscopy works or PCR. And the person to tell you about their inability is the one who discovered it.

So it goes like that

Changing the conversation
Strawman arguments (plenty)
Attempts to assassinate his character
Extrapolations
Misrepresentations

Cycle repeats

That video is over 20 years old.
Maybe fauci learned a bit more about stuff in those decades.

I am afraid you are mistaken again after having made a range of strawman arguments.

You asked me above whether I believe Mullis is infallible. But that's a strawman as you can easily see I haven't made such claim.

It isn't my judgement that is clouded. This is another unqualified claim of yours.

Mullis was quite right in criticising Fauci and other scientists because of their lack of understanding of molecular biology and biochemistry. Not being able to understand electron microscopy or how the PCR works are valid criticisms.

Instead of the above you have chosen to present Mullis as a crackpot. And this is where you loose the argument. Presenting a series of unsubstantiated claims made in tabloids and newspapers that he was a womaniser, a recreational drug user, and an astrology person...

He says that ordinary people are not able to differentiate between the best and the brightest and can't tell you who is a good and decent scientist. Have you seen me to call others idiots in these threads? Do I seem to 'feel' like Mullis to you. I don't know what your point is.

Mullis was correct to criticise those who were unable to understand basic electron microscopy, molecular biology, biochemistry, and yet being in charge of the NIAID or in positions of power.

There has to be a context too as the interview is from 1996 and still in the HIV-AIDS era.

It's a shame that he is not around to criticise further Anthony Fauci and the scientific and medical establishment although there are many vocals scientists in our days but not as many as there should have been.
