I dont know does the approaching Grand Solar Minimum bring litle ice age , but can we speculate litle bit this scenario ...

I`m no scientist, but i have a feeling that if there would be litle ice age, those wind farms at sea would not much produce electricity , because the turbines, blades etc would not work at such cold temperatures .


So are we heading to even bigger electricity problem than this coming winter ? The planning should start right now to prepare for future, and not 5-10 years from now.

Btw, i noticed in the wind farm map, that current windfarm named Moray East / Capacity: 950 MW ( Scotland east coast ) is owned by China Three Gorges Corporation. Why are Chinese owning ?


This green energy agenda does not even consider the possibility of colder weather, it`s a gigantic cluster# if you ask me .

Wow! That`s very interesting report


So Pentagon knew this ages ago, but our dear goverments just push this climate change version where temperatures are getting hotter, and also push building wind farms without even considering that what if ??


We should have no-regrets strategies , that are build to last both current and possible very different climate than today.

Yeah, that phrase; "no regrets", is very clear in its meaning. Not surprising, though. In a scenario like the one outlined in the report, world will go (even more) dog-eat-dog in short order.

The thing about the paper I linked to was that it was (reportedly) a "thought exercise", and not a prediction. That group is paid to think about what "could happen", not what "will happen". Even so, I suspect they may have had input from others that indicated that scenario was worth considering. Their paper mentions the cooling happening in the 2010s. Off by a decade or so would still be an amazingly accurate forecast given all of the chatter about global warming.

I gues Al Gore also had this same paper but being a con man it did not have any effect to he`s dangerous behaviour.

BTW, I agree with your comment about all of the green tech not meaning much in a LIA situation. People will be ice skating on the Thames again, just like the cold spell in the Middle Ages.

Offshore wind farms? Frozen or failed due to lack of maintenance. Onshore-- likely frozen much of the time and probably little if any maintenance. Solar gear will produce less with constant heavy cloud cover and won't last more than a decade or two if the electronic components can't be replaced.

Also think modern countries will have their hands full with migration streams if climate changes dramatically.

Well now that i looked more, it seems like Chinese own just 10% , or at least that was the figure few years back. They had option for acquire up to 30 percent later.

No. The Pentagon produced a "what if" scenario - which was, however, already out of date based on scientific predictions at the time.

Some folk have been predicting an imminent catastrophic ice age for decades (Nigel Calder started it back in the early 1970s with his book "The Weather Machine" and subsequent BBC documentary)

Guess what. The world goes on getting warmer ...... The worst case scenario now is that conditions "could" revert back to how they were in the 1980s. I think we all survived that decade?
