Speaking of ignorance, we have no idea if that's true. It's a second hand story. Reality is we have no idea what the photographer was doing, and for some reason he isn't talking. Probably because he fears his story will fall apart with further questioning.

Diamond shape. Check.
Hovering. Check.
Humming Sound. Check.
On the evening of April 5, 2012, over the Costa Mesa area of California, a motorist reportedly saw a diamond-shaped object hovering about a mile away from him. In his report filed with the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON, he also claims to have heard a humming sound emanating from the object

every time i look at this i see early stealth programs.
heck one looked almost identical to it, add fly by wire to the hopeless diamond and a regular chap taking a picture on the moors and presto we have a UFO
you can practically see the inlets like on the F117
On August 4, 1990, two young men were working as chefs in a hotel in Pitlochry, just outside the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. At 9pm, after a long day in a hot kitchen, they drove about 13 miles north along the A9 to Calvine, a spot on the edge of the Cairngorms, for a walk in the hills. They hadn't gone far when they saw a huge, solid, diamond-shaped object. Minutes later, they heard the scream of a jet aircraft going north The jet came back and circled the 'thing' before heading off on its original course. Eventually the two men stuck their camera out from where they were hiding and fired off six frames.

Im with you.
I personally think it was some sort of rigid, stealth blimp type of craft
Thanks for the photo! When was that one taken?
...So, the two guys ended shift at 09:00pm and decided to go for a walk in the hills, even when they knew the sun was about to set (at 09:21 pm). And they drove some 13 miles (20 Km). How long does it take to travel 13 miles on a mountain road?
By all accounts, the boys arrived at the site late at night. And they didn't take the picture around 09:00pm. At 09;00 pm is when they finished their shift at the hotel.
Something does not add up.
