Did you actually watch 'Logan's Run'?

At 30, everyone went to Caracel where their body was destroyed and recycled. They called it renewel. Their spirit was supposed to go into the new body.

The robot was made to freeze fish and other aquatic life grown in the tanks for food. When the fish stopped coming and the people started coming it froze them as programed. The robot was never programed to kill people. All it knew was freez the food that showed up.

The best part of Logan's Run was at the end when you realize that the dome city was Sanctuary, and they blew it up because of the failings of the prior generation that set it up.

Exactly. That is why they could not find it outside. They were in it but could not see they were in Sanctuary all along.

I could see the a similar thing happening in this city in a few generations.

They don't know any outside so there is no outside. But what is out there?

I watched it. Don't recall all the details as well as you. I have a friend at work like that who can tell you minutia of about every movie he ever watched. That is annoying. In your case, thank you for the correction. Either way they fake your renewal and you are supposed to die. Logan figured it out when his turn to report came and he was no longer the hunter but the hunted. He found the escape route and kept his mouth closed but for the nurse played by Farrah Faucet Majors I do recall.
