If the US was going to make Ukraine its colony, then there really is nothing surprising in the fact that some US citizens decide who should be in the government of the country.

By the way, (I draw your attention to this) she said that Klitschko should not be in the government of Ukraine. (00:46)

Indeed, Klitschko did not enter the government of Ukraine but became the mayor of the capital city of Kyiv.

Do you think it is right that the one who forms the government forms the direction of the country's development?

This whole narrative falls apart with one simple question: Who did the US want as President of Ukraine?

Hint: It wasn't Poroshenko.

Do you think that Poroshenko became president of Ukraine against the will of the United States?

What are your grounds for such a statement?

I didn't expect you to believe me, but do you believe Vladimir Putin?

As NATO expands to the east, with every passing year, the situation for our country is getting worse and more dangerous. Moreover, in recent days the leadership of NATO has been openly talking about the need to speed up, force the advancement of the alliance’s infrastructure to the borders of Russia. In other words, they are doubling down on their position. We can no longer just watch what is happening.

That's from his speech justifying the recent invasion. If Russia was in control of Ukraine's government, why would this war be necessary? Putin could just tell them to stop cooperating with NATO.

All the peoples who previously inhabited the territory of Russia continue to exist to this day.

Haha, are you quite sure about that? For example, does the Meshchera people still exist?

I would like to see a link to understand where and when Putin said these words.

In other words, you have no evidence that Russia controlled Ukraine before the Maidan happened.

Do you know any Russian campaign against the Meshchera tribe?

As far as I understand, this tribe, like many other small tribes, simply dissolved in the Russian people, becoming part of it.

Are you implying that there was some kind of genocide here?

Good. But this is the official translation.

Even now, with NATO’s eastward expansion the situation for Russia has been becoming worse and more dangerous by the year. Moreover, these past days NATO leadership has been blunt in its statements that they need to accelerate and step up efforts to bring the alliance’s infrastructure closer to Russia’s borders. In other words, they have been toughening their position. We cannot stay idle and passively observe these developments. This would be an absolutely irresponsible thing to do for us.

From your answer, I understand that you agree that you cannot prove that Ukraine was under the control of Russia.

That translation is fine too. I don't see your point. You think they are different In some relevant way? Could you point out where?

a reply to: turretless

I don't know if there was a genocide or not. Just pointing out the error in your earlier post.

Really sad news, Putin never going to get forgiven by humanity and god after all these war crimes.
I pray for all the mothers and kids in Ukraine to get out of that place until things gets back to normal.
There are many western countries that will gladly help with house over their head and food, clothes and toys.

Ukraine also kills their own though. But the conflict is only there because of the U.S. government. Ukrainians and Russians are trying to end it... runaway from it... or simply do nothing. Neither side have a proper military ready. When Ukraine shot that missile on their own country... they had to use an outdated soviet era missile.

Why in the world are people attempting to say these two countries with hardly a militia are going to "war"? Theres only been two wars ever... at least in a modern sense.

If you read a little kid was instantly converted into something that looks more like a well done lasagna than a human... and the first thing you think of is "WAR!" Maybe there is a "war"... not between two countries but between you and your lack of willpower to go read a friggin' book! And youre losing... badly... if you had any IQ, its playing hopscotch with miss lasagna in a place where the streets have no name...
