Ive heard it pronounced every which way from Sunday, and being from the Wang of the US, my accent says, "yerrrn-Us".

Kinda like Ohhl/Ahhl for Oil, but a FL, not Virginia-area accent, lol

Also, never heard Tinnitus pronouced any way other than "tih-NYE-tuss/tih-NYE-duss" or in just one Mississippian person's case, "tin-uh-tiss".

In my VERY honest opinion, I think we're just hearing accents trade limelight dominance in speech is all. We're just not actively aware of when we start gravitating.


Again, southerner in the Great Lakes, y'all (not you, JAG) talk funny like Canucks to me up here, but I sound like a bad accent joke hybrid myself.

But at least I Michiganized & call it "pop" like it's Old Hat soda lingo now.

In my case, it's Unpronounceable Sauce, because I can.

You are right about me, I am an Asian American living in the Midwest, that CAN’T even do an Asian accent if I tried, I have the very slightest southern accent from living in Bama! It totally confuses people.

Then they ask me where I’m from……. Being a Brat, that is our most hated question ever!
