Well idiot Russia would drain them anyway. At least this way they are fighting and taking Russia down. Russian army trashed, using 50 year old T-62s now. Russia lost the battle of Kyiv. Russia lost the battle of Karkhiv. Russian economy trashed inflation at ~15%, GDP down ~20% this year alone. Dear leader Pooptin trashed and fighting for survival. Russia reputation trashed. Russia global respect trashed. Russia sanity trashed, have a look at some Russian state TV they are totally insane...

The early russian economic indicators look FAR worse than you described, but what you described is currently the best 'official' outlook.

It's FAR worse.

It wouldn't suprise me if 2022 russian gdp takes a 30+% hit after subtracting war spending, and 50% is in the realm of possiblity for 2023.

Inflation in some russian markets has already exceeded 100% in just 2 months, and housing sales in it's 3 largest cities have dropped by 90%.

Retail interest rates nearing 30% means their economy will absolutely shut down as a result of russia's currency manipulations.

I wasn't kidding about the bread lines reappearing if russia wants to continue this nonsense.
