"putin invaded ukraine but he didnt do it because to was a boring february"

putin invaded Ukraine again because he wants Ukrainian land and resources, he saw the biden weakness and thought he could get away with it right now.

No other reason.

The way of the world unfortunately, between the worlds power brokers. So, I can agree with your sentiment. Still, if I don't like my new neighbour, and think he is going to be a problem, I can't just go take over his house. Maybe not a great analogy, but good enough.

Its good, lets go with it.

So the neighbors were already rowdy, Ukraine and russia. They used to be chummy when it benifetted them.

Another neighbor, us, want to be neighbors too! So we invite them over for beers and grill. Tell em hey, we have some really cool weapons and the whole town on our side. You could join us!.....maybe.

Well, they agree but the family is not on board. They start fighting. The russia neigbor, no longer chummy, is pissed that this new neigbor is causing trouble in their neighborhood.

Well the Russian media came forth with the arrest of he guy who posted the video raping the baby, I imagine if the people that they are claiming is the voices are actually not, we would hear about it too. Russian media and others would definitely spread the info.

Putin's forces are still in Ukraine as we speak, russia already stole land with it's first invasion of Ukraine, and russia is refusing any further peace talks, what other 'proof' is required?

Man, I just don't know, I'm not sure what gets him to the peace table, I tend to think he just wants it, and not really interested in peace, that doesn't involve occupation. I think whatever happens, has to, from within his circle.

I find it hard to count on much info from either side, so who really knows what is going in, in terms of resolving it.

[exFair enough! I agree pretty much. But his motivations are unclear to me, and I believe they are key to solving it. I've heard pipelines, minerals, natsees, biolabs, nato, former holdings..probably missing a few here..

IMO in order to stay relevant and prosperous, he needs that stretch of land to Crimea. Ive said from the beginning thats all he wants.

A neutral Ukraine is also on his list of demands. That would be ulitmatetly the best course IMO. However the assets and interests already allocated are likely to make this a pipedream.

Whatever the actual case, the invasion and war was a better option than any forseeable diplomacy in putins eyes.

Id like to solve for that piece of the equation.

Yeah, just light them all up, right?

There is a difference when you see people you think is a threat, even if wrong compared to suggesting to kill everyone moving. Another big problem in Iraq etc was no one wore uniforms, so you made your best choice you can within seconds of time to do it.

I am glad they arrested the guy. If he had been in my squad he wouldn't have lived to stand trial but it is better that he be taken in and made an example of.

Well, that's another way of the world thing, right, wrong, or indifferent. Usually economics involved. I would not overestimate the level of chumminess though. Alot of this stuff started at the end of a sword and musket to start with, to..here we are. With lots of drama in between.

Another neighbor, us, want to be neighbors too! So we invite them over for beers and grill. Tell em hey, we have some really cool weapons and the whole town on our side. You could join us!.....maybe.

My overly simplistic answer for a difficult question is..sometimes, you just have to live with a situation, until it does actually spill over. I don't care what my neighbour does, as long as he stays off my property.

The proof is in the pudding, putin started preparing for the invasion almost immediately when biden got cheated into the whitehouse.

Nothing else changed last feb/march.

No, I obviously don't have putin anal probed in order to read his mind.

But there is evidence available, and all of it suggests that this is the only plausible theory.

Russia has only receeded, save for crimea.

Nato is the reason nato is on russias doorstep.

They aren't involved at my behest.

Seriously though, more way of this world stuff, proxy war/world chess
for what reason nowdays..I think more about resources/land. My reasoning is, with boomers roaming around the ocean, do you really need a land based thing, which just becomes an easy target? I get it would upset Russia, but how much tactical advantage. I have read sources that say no, they weren't intending to put nukes there..but..you know. It would be inflammatory if they did.

I could also entertain the idea, that Ukraine didn't want to be steamrolled by Russia, so allying with the west might not seem abnormal. I also wonder, if Ukraine was part of NATO, would they have to get their sh#t in order?

How about Georgia?

Well if you look at Russia in 1919, it is the same as 1991. It was just USSR that steamed rolled it all. Russia is the only reason prior satellite countries looked around for power in numbers.
edit on 15-4-2022 by Xtrozero because: (no reason given)

So there are no russian soldiers in Ukraine right now in your reality?

Weird.

NATO is not a country, countries choose to join the NATO defensive alliance when they are afraid that russia might invade them.

Russia causes that fear that russia might invade them, not the defensive alliance.
