Whenever you lose the higher ground during a debate... just make some random statement that compares the opposite side to Hitler or Nazies.

Internet debating 101.

Evil nazis are everywhere in Ukraine, according to your russian propaganda anyway.

Actually:

Volunter Ukrainian unit includes Nazis

And while I'm on a thread about war crimes:

OSCE Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting (2016): War Crimes of the Armed Forces and Security Forces of Ukraine

The data that has been accumulated since the first report by the
Foundation for Democracy Studies provides ground to conclude that
torture and inhumane treatment inflicted by the Security Forces of
Ukraine (SBU), by the Ukrainian armed forces, the National Guard and
other formations within the Interior Ministry of Ukraine, as well as by
illegal armed groups, such as Right Sector, have not only continued but
are gaining in scale and are becoming systematic.

All reported after russia invaded in 2014, I could write the same kind of reports about russia's activities in Ukraine.

Perhaps russia shouldn't have invaded the country to steal land. Twice in a decade.

Putin sure is trying to do a hitler imitation.

Do you not think that Ukrainian authorities systematically torturing and killing pro-Russian Ukrainians might have had something to do with why the Russians decided to intervene?

I notice you're not using the Russian propaganda argument, maybe because neither of those sources are Russian perhaps?

At least you've got a tiny bit of common sense

Were Ukrainian forces attacking russians before russia invaded Ukraine to steal land in 2014?

No they were killing their own people...well technically after the referendums they were killing citizens from separatist regions.

The Ukrainian land that russia was trying to steal by invasion?

We know.

Ukraine should have attacked them more fiercely, perhaps they wouldn't be dealing with another russian invasion to steal land now.

The subject of the post I was responding to was the percentage of Nazis.

Yeah, but you go ahead and act like it was a random statement.

I just wanna say you guys supporting this are pretty sick. The people you are supporting want to ethnically cleanse ukraine. That's disgusting...its the type of thing as a civilized human you should be repulsed by...yet same as US politics you choose a "side" to cheerlead. You are the embodyment of what ATS was built to negate. Too bad the new owners dont feel that way...

The reality is right now we don't have answers however that will change with ICC investigations. For example currently the french have sent 3 investigative teams to Ukraine to gather evidence. We will have access to the reports when they finish.

Here is a video of them starting their investigations warning this is a very graphic video.

This isn't going to go away war crimes will be investigated no matter which party committed them. The main difference i see is Ukraine is willing to investigate even ones people claim they did while Russia's plan seems to be to deny it ever happened just like when they shot down the airliner over Ukraine.

Yes and the US paid dearly for all the crimes committed on the ME...that for sure with western backing they will be found at fault by a western organization which is beholden to the same folks who spent billions to puppet ukraine using nationalist nazis.

Thousand of dead Russian troop, dead Russian Generals, ships being lost in a ground war, hundreds loss pieces of armor. Fortunes being spent on missiles. (That Russia could have spent on Nazi investigations and humanitarian and using existing Ukrainian laws against naziism and Russia’s position on the Security Council) in stead of war.) Whole cities being turned into decimated graveyards with dead civilians in the streets and in mass grave. All for what concerning the average Russian and Ukrainian? How many Nazis has Putin brought to trail? On what evidence.

Is destroying cities with no military target how Putin protects citizens.

Putin is another lying authoritarian. And you can’t be honest about that.

Wrong you don't know who the ICC is do you?

The International Criminal Court (ICC) investigates and, where warranted, tries individuals charged with the gravest crimes of concern to the international community: genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of aggression. As a court of last resort, it seeks to complement, not replace, national Courts. Governed by an international treaty called the Rome Statute, the ICC is the world's first permanent international criminal court.

Established: By an international treaty (the Rome Statute), which
entered into force on 1 July 2002.
States Parties: 123 countries are parties to the Rome Statute (effective
as of 26 November 2019). Of these, 33 are from Africa, 19 from the
Asia Pacific, 18 from Eastern Europe, 28 from Latin America and the
Caribbean, as well as 25 from Western Europe and North America.
4 crimes within the Court’s jurisdiction: The most serious crimes of
concern to the international community, namely genocide, crimes
against humanity and war crimes committed after 1 July 2002, as
well as the crime of aggression (as of 17 July 2018).
18 judges: Elected for 9 years by the Assembly of States Parties, and
assigned into Pre-Trial, Trial and Appeals Chambers.
President: Judge Piotr Hofmański
Prosecutor: Mr Karim A.A. Khan QC
Registrar: Mr Peter Lewis
900 staff members: From approximately 100 States.
6 official languages: English, French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian and
Spanish.
2 working languages: English and French.
Headquarters: The Hague, The Netherlands.

So no it has nothing to do with the west so your attempt at deflection is useless.

It appears the only thing I was wrong about us that even the US thinks the ICC is dangerous and open to being influenced from outside sources.

Most of the key appointed positions are held by westerners as well. It actually looks like the US a well as china and even Israel aren't even signed to the rome treaty. Also...whats the deal with there only being english and french as their working languages. Does that mean those who work at the ICC speak either english or french? That sounds pretty western to me.

www.brookings.edu...

Also appears as the majority of the top positions are filled by people from NATO countries.

Edit: hell even Ukraine and Russia both aren't signed to the rome treaty...

The issue with the ICC is the fact Ukraine has not ratified the treaty and Russia withdrew completely from the ICC. Russian law prohibits the extradition of Russian citizens. Universal jurisdiction would have to be invoked but since Russia wont cooperate the ICC will be stuck. All crimes for the ICC requires the suspect to be present at court. So if you want to prosecute Putin or any other Russian they will need to be arrested outside the borders of Russia. The ICC can not try anyone in absentia.

Crimes of aggression are still outside the jurisdiction of the ICC.
