The us is the bad guys, and now someone is standing up to them and it’s Putin. He’s bringing the fear the us has unleashed on the world and sending it back. It’s incredible that people think an excommunicated Catholic abortionist spreader of perversions, lying mass murdering crook and his followers are the good guys, and the 2 twats that stood behind, smiling and dancing while Ukrainian people are dying, in his full of # state of the union.

pssst in that creepy Joe Biden whisper so you will understand.

All of them are bad guys America, Russia, Ukraine NATO China, and everybody else, except the smaller countries like Australia and Canada those are the good guys right?

NOPE all of them are full of corruption and graft, just on different degrees and sophistication. As always it's the innocent public that bears the brunt of such activities.

I know you are no lover of the old USSR and communism etc.
And I also know you are very proud Russian - I don't think anyone see's any sort of problem with that, certainly not me.

Which is why I am saddened at your blind obedience to the Putin party line and posting his propaganda without any apparent attempt at exercising any level of unbiased critical thinking.

Putin is leading your country towards a level of isolation that will possibly exceed even the worst of the Cold War era.

A true patriot does what is right and best for his country, Putin is abusing his power to do what is best for his own ego and personal 'legacy'.

You have many friends here on ATS.

Most of his threads are top notch as well, informative, interesting, sometimes even funny.

The dude seems stuck behind a tyrant all the same.

Shame he refuses to see the forest for the trees.

Then again nobody is perfect, the guys patriotic, but its misplaced given who's at the helm of his nation.

That's crossed my mind as well but I've discounted because Putin has been chipping away at Ukraine for 8 years. He may have felt that he would be welcomed as the great saviour after the manufactured referendum in Crimea. Also, the inability of the Ukrainians to oust the Russian backed rebels in the east of the country may have led the military heads in Russia to believe that a full scale Russian invasion would be quick.

The one thing I will say is it doesn't appear that the Russians are interested in razing the country so there may be hope for Ukraine after they defeat the Russians to still be an emerging country with its infrastructure mostly intact.

I've interacted with him quite a few times.
Not always agreed with him but I respect his viewpoint and have grown to like the guy.

Times like these make strange bedfellows and national pride sometimes trumps everything else.

I've really enjoyed his threads on history and providing an alternative viewpoint in threads.

Me too Freeborn, seemed ok in my book.

Still is i suppose, just canny agree with him on this nonsense, because he is so far off the mark is not even funny.

Got to wonder how many poor Russians have been hoodwinked in to support of Putin's actions and believe in his bull# rhetoric all the same?

I would have though the simple use of a VPN would allow them to see what's really happening.

Not be long until that notion will draw a sentence of 15 years also i suppose.

Got to wonder as to the information the Russian people are able to access if they do believe Putin's nonsense put it that way.

Certainly hope so GAOTU789.

They deserve a break or at least a shot at a future of their own without Putins paws all over their arses.

Some of his threads have been really informative and others give a take on things from a perspective I'd never previously considered.
He's likeable, intelligent and genuinely funny at times.

It really is sad to see.

Agreed man. The only reason I replied to this thread in the first place is because he authored it.

That's Russia now saying they are going to take out Ukraine intelligence services so they cannot launch cyber attacks on Russia.

Which will constitute them hitting the middle of the city of Kyiv with rocket or missile attack.

God bless the poor sods.

An interesting article on the BBC News website. (I wasn't going to post it due to it allegedly being a 'biased' source??)

www.bbc.co.uk...

Lots of Russians wanting to get out of Putin's Russia.

But of course there are the usual suspects who will just dismiss it as 'western propaganda'.

Please. Thinking and counting is the right of any person. As well as the right to be wrong.

Don't get me wrong. I like you and I like all of the other Russian people. I would rather not see any harm come to any Russian civilians or even harm to those of your soldiers who are unwilling participants. It's just that I happen to have great foglights and can clearly see what is going on. I hope we can get back on the path towards a better national relationship between our two countries.

These are sad days for you and those like you, I guess. The rulers of the Russian Corporation, the stockholders (the oligarchs) are not happy with the guy they put in charge of the Corporation, the eunuch CEO Mr. Putin.

See, stockholders only want profits, and the balance sheet has turned into # showing red numbers. My friend, I guess the CEO won't see the sun, and his days alive can be counted with the fingers of just one hand. He'll die, deranged, isolated, alone, despised, as an eunuch who is no longer neither funny nor profitable. The probability that the stockholders will kill the CEO is directly related to the numbers in the financial statements.

But worry not, RussianTroll. As a slave your life won't change much. In away, it will be a bless when the oligarchs kill Putin, for otherwise you will live permanently scared, speaking in whispers, without freedom of the press, without freedom of movement, without freedom of expression, without illusion, without a future. Like your grandparents did.

You have to choose: Putin, or the oligarchs. Sadly, whatever you choose, you lose.

We send food and medicine to ordinary people in Ukraine.

Is that before or after you send bombs to their schools, apartment buildings, stores, town squares, etc and kill them?

Well is this true? let me guess it was the Ukrainians bombing the site

twitter.com...

The evacuation was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. but Russian forces didn't stop shelling the area.

Authorities were hoping to evacuate up to 200,000 people from the city.
