If I owned a gas station, just seeing what is coming, and that my supply perhaps might be choked down some, I would raise prices just to stop the panic buying, and tamp down demand, to make it last longer for those who truly need it, and will use it sparingly.

Not everyone who raises prices is a 'price gouger' .

You gotta make your supply last too, or else you are just out of business, and if they cannot buy gas at your shop, they are not coming inside to buy the more lucrative perishable items, and lottery tickets either. It hurts.

EDIT TO ADD: The last guy in town who has gas to sell, started selling it at higher prices earlier than the others, in general, or else it would be 'already gone'.

The corruption runs deep. It is embedded into the framework of this system. We are the framework so the transformation must begin within us. Humans have the innate power to steer our own evolutionary course. If we find ourselves on a course collision, through metamorphosis of consciousness, we can redirect the path. But for this transformation to take effect, intent and desire have to match. In order to reach that crucial threshold of intent + desire, there needs to be a proper incentive or driving force. One of the biggest driving forces for humans and all living creatures is PAIN. When is enough, enough..when enough people fully feel the pain of being caught in this system, that's when they'll find the will to escape.

Ha - thanks! No I was not a Brigadier General nor was I an officer at all. I was a specialist (E4 equivalent to corporal). As we said back then "I'm not an officer, I work for a living"! And I did go on some exercises, but I was more of a "chair-borne ranger" than an actual soldier in the field type. Sitting in an "office" drinking tons of coffee and playing pinochle and also dealing mostly with communications, etc. I believe it's OK to say now, since it doesn't exist any more, that for a period of time when I was stationed at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas, I personally did periodic quality control testing on the old school "DEW" (distant early warning) line - which was a series of radars across the northern Arctic to detect Soviet bombers during the cold war. But now I'm babbling...

But yes, I would assume that the majority of us ex-military remember their oaths and can see that our country has been under attack from within for quite some time now. As has been said by someone previously - just wait until those of us who want to be left alone get involved!
