There are other farther-reaching possibilities to consider i suppose both of the benevolent and malevolent sorts.

Taken to its logical concussion we may be able to learn at near exponential speed, downloading and assimilating information wise.

Then their are the nefarious control aspects to consider.

Double edged sword i suppose, just like most inventions and technology.

This is musk we're talking about. He's a big kid with a gazillion bucks in his back pocket, not a super villain.

He's going to do some things that are controversial, but he's not Lex Luthor in waiting.

Since they're monkeys, we probably won't really know unless there are obvious biological/physiological signs of infection.

How do you judge insanity in a monkey, for example?

You missed the joke. There was an American movie, I forget the name, where they talk about hooking a monkey up to a system like this and to quote them "it just screamed".

Monkey going crazy after being plugged into a computer is an old trope. Remember lawnmower man?

After watching ghost in the shell, I'm in no rush to get WiFi in my brain.

If you thought covid was bad imagine getting a million pop up ads for boner pills sent straight to your head by a computer virus. You could get VR herpes from logging into the wrong porn site, and what happens if you downloaded the wrong firmware for your junk, you could brick your wedding tackle.

Have you watched "Altered Carbon" yet?

I read about it not a long time ago, and it makes me feel sad. I understand that the technologies are developing, and such experiments are part of that development, but in my opinion, using animals isn't right. I don't know any other alternatives, but it should be something else. Animals are used in different experiments, testing, and a lot of them die. Once I was writing small research on the issue and found a lot of scary statistics and information. There was one Home page where I read different articles related to it, and I can say only one thing - it should be stopped. I understand that such a way of testing is better than, for example, tests on people, but still, there should be some alternatives.
