Carl Pilkington's Monkey News

Not surprising for an initial trial, but Elon is gonna catch some flak definitely, with reports that not only deaths but every single monkey suffered from debilitating effects.

Im on the fence about animal testing honestly, this sounds like an abject failure. Not to mention I understand you would need a subject whose brain capacity can handle this, but still, an monkey brain is so far removed from the complexities of the human brain it could have been a success and it still might not work for humans.

PS

Is it me or are we getting a plethora of news from a variety of subjects, ATS-worthy subjects all at once? Russia,Hillary,Vaccines,Truckers etc.

consequence.net...

Out of a total of 23 monkeys implanted with Elon Musk’s Neuralink brain chips at the University of California Davis between 2017 and 2020, at least 15 reportedly died.

Via Business Insider and the New York Post, the news comes from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, an animal-rights group that viewed over 700 pages of documents, veterinary records, and necropsy reports through a public records request at the university.

Neuralink was founded in 2016 with a goal of helping people recover from traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, curing depression and other mental health disorders, and connecting humans to the internet for everything from music streaming to near-telepathic communication. The company has often touted its successes, such as a demonstration on a pig in 2020, and a 2021 video of a macaque playing Pong with its mind.

Early days really.

Considering the possibilities where the technology is concerned where the likes of being able to address or circumvent traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries being the end goal and possibility, i have to hope that every failure is simply another step towards successful integration.

Shame for the poor monkeys all the same but its apparently a necessary evil.

We really should start experimenting on the likes of paedophiles, that way every failure is also an execution, thus somewhat kill two birds with the one stone.

Hmmm makes more sense than monkeys, plus they can make that choice.

As for the spinal cord and paralysis, this sounds much more promising and no dead monkeys well not yet at least

There are other farther-reaching possibilities to consider i suppose both of the benevolent and malevolent sorts.

Taken to its logical concussion we may be able to learn at near exponential speed, downloading and assimilating information wise.

Then their are the nefarious control aspects to consider.

Double edged sword i suppose, just like most inventions and technology.

And it gets around that "experimenting on humans" clause.

There must be a better way to test new tech then torture animals.
Nasty crap.. I would rather stand still in technology development.

They were always going to have to test this in higher level subjects eventually, meaning animal trials. Would we rather they pop them straight into people first?

I also have to wonder how much of this news is directly related to the amount of negative animal testing news they have released on Fauci and Collins' government agencies?

Honestly, for those of you who want to plug yourselves into the network, this kind of thing will have to happen in order to test out the effects of just injecting chips into ourselves. Some animals are going to have to take the first steps.

Got no problem with the vast majority of medical animal testing, but this one looks like it was so far off, it needed some significant finer tuning before animal trials.

FWIW we have heard of a lot of grand ideas from Elon, so yes some are gonna be missed, this just seems to be a colossal one, it's not even killing the animals but if they suffer over a period of time as it seems these monkeys did It bothers me.

Especially when there is no return except that didn't work.

this is latest instance of a 'imposed roadblock' that humanity comes face-to-face with...

humanities designers/ creators, which we have placed in the 'religious sphere' put these impediments to progress for a reason...

life forms like monkeys for test subjects - should be abandoned ->> instead->> we should use AI or Virtual Reality test subjects instead of living creatures

this present nexus point will be our commitment to a moral advancement or 'decline' --> with a resulting Karma payback or Pay-Day...its our collective choice

sounds like what we need is a mandate to push
this out to the masses to get the kinks worked out.

or give it fauci he has some puppies laying around to work with.

Considering 3/4 of technology is developed with some form of military defense contract tentatively eyed as the prize reward, let's not. There's more creative ways to punish pedos while contributing to medicine and social welfare, but without turning our soldiers into cyborgs because science.

You cannot design an AI/VR model that adequately represents a true, living subject. Biology is far too complex for that and far too individualistic. We are all our own kingdom basically composed of too many variables.

Where chemistry is predictable and can be controlled through math, biology and biochemistry can only and ever be done on bell curves and there will always be outliers.

Elon is definitely a strange-brew himself. I personally think he could use his great mind in better ways but I don't doubt his general sincerity in wanting to transform humanity towards what he sees to be a better condition.

Funny thing about all this wonderful "science" is that the military-industrial-complex is the comptroller. I'm sure the elite-class accrues some "benefit" as the science progresses.

What I came to add to this topic, however, is the sense I'm getting that we're being allowed to hear about more Elon failures because he's being quite recalcitrant in speaking some truth to power lately.

He's getting some mild "corrections" with the broader threat implied.

that kind of worries me. the company that will develop the AI prototypes to be used for experimentation will be called Skynet. And we all know what happens next. I'll be back.

Again, for those of you wanting to be plugged in to the network, this is the kind of thing that leads to it. Your future is over a bunch of bodies.

Not that i think you would be far wrong given our penchant where creating new ways to destroy ourselves is concerned.

Taken to its logical conclusion this type of technology will still amount to a tool TzarChasm, just like any other, that can be used for both good and evil purpose.

Only reason i suggested using pedos is because human test subjects are better than monkeys, and if the beasts are apt to experiment with little kids returning the favour via experimenting on there nuts seem fair play to me.

Humans don't create tools we don't use, may as well learn and put them to good use as opposed to the alternative, even if it is somewhat wishful thinking.

What killed them?

Did they commit suicide due to the existential horror of it, or did they die of an infection because some lab tech didn't properly sterilize something?
