So disappointed Mr. Anti Establishmentarian himself decided to side with The Establishment.

He can side with whomever he wants. We all tend to side with The Man on this or that, but the disappointment would be in him not practicing what he preaches where speech is concerned. No one forces anyone to pay for Rogan's stuff, and I've never really heard Rogan beyond a few isolated snippets here and there. It's quite easy not to hear him if you don't want to. You have to actively seek him out, so the idea that he should be banished entirely is crazy. If people didn't want to hear him, they would simply not seek out his podcasts.

I've always like Young's music and have several of his albums in my collection.

That said, it seems he's drunk the Covid Cool Aid. Adios Neil.

Good. Ditch the hack and keep the talent. Makes perfect sense to me.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Neil

He’s just another pop culture phoney

He’s never been anti establishment. He’s controlled opposition at best

The TV just told me that Joni Mitchell is going now.

Smell that freedom!

A great way for a 76-year-old passe "rocker" to bring attention to himself and maybe boost record sales. Why can't any of these old dinosaurs just be happy and peacefully fade into obscurity, napping on their big pile of opulence? One last thing, since rock is essentially a young person's artform, how can a guy THIS old think he has any relevance at all anymore? Its over Neal, you had a nice run, now shut up and let someone else have a chance.

www.bbc.co.uk...

Joni just asked Spotify to remove her music. No demands.

So, quite different.

Not what I am saying, the music is great, all of it. But this woke cancel culture BS is toxic to society and it needs to stop. Its amazing to me that a guy who claimed to be so antiestablishment and pro freedom is such an outright fascist.

That's why I said "going now".

Didn't say she demanded anything.

A few friends of mine are in bands that are on spotify and universally the money they get is abysmal. Literal pennies. Best they can hope for is exposure that gets people to go see them live, unfortunately a lot of the spotify listeners tend to be international and don’t want to come from Portugal, America or Poland to clubs in Sheffield.

Such is the life of a struggling musical artist. Something I can relate to personally.

I imagine if you get millions of plays per day then it adds up quite nicely though.

Of course still not knowing who Neil Young is other than someone apparently not too keen on Joe Rogan I don’t know if he just torpedoed tens of thousands a week or an extra coffee every friday.

I’d have more sympathy for the man if he merely had expressed his views on Joe Rogan without giving this silly ultimatum. Dug his own grave here.

Maybe he didn’t like his spotify deal and wanted out so did this?

Wow both songs, thats pretty wild. She's going to lose tens of dollars a month. Most were probably autoplay anyway.

Oh dear. She expressed an opinion.

Does that offend you in some way?

No demands, though.

Were you saying something about free speech?
