Stick your jabs right up there, Im not playing anymore!

I'm not vaccinated. But I've said many times that I would consider Novavax if it became approved.
So Now it is here and I made the call to have myself put on the list.

They tell me that if I want to get on the waiting list for Novavax, I have to proof that I am allergic to the mrna vaccines.
I tell the lady that I AM allergic to them with a certainty of 95%, based on my allergies for other vaccines and medications.
She tells me that I have to get a note from a certified allergy center or get a note from my doctor that states that I had an allergic reaction with my first or second jab. And then the allergy center tells me that there is an 8 months waiting list to get tested and the only way to test it is by provoking a reaction, in other words, by injecting the vaccine....

but but but....

The main reason for me not being jabbed already is because I DON'T want to provoke an allergic reaction... and second because I don't want an mrna vaccine in my body! (by now my second reason has become my main reason so I'm actually glad for my first reason since I can use it as an excuse when people give me a hard time about not being vaxxed....)

So they tell me that I can only have the Novavax boosters in the future IF I TAKE THE PFIZER OR MODERNA JAB FIRST....

WHAT KIND OF OUT OF THIS REALITY BULL# IS THIS ????

Seriously! I keep waiting for someone to tell me "haha" it's just a joke! Or someone to pinch me so I can wake up from this hilarious and ridiculous circus dream!!!

Anyway, They can stick their jabs, including Novavax, right UP THERE!

So, you're definitely allergic, but have zero proof? So now you need proof (shocking, right?) but it's everyone's fault that you've made unsubstantiated claims and now have to wait in line behind every other goober who is just as forward thinking as yourself? Did I miss something, Karen? Maybe you should ask to speak to a manager, but I bet you've already done that multiple times.
As much as I hate working with people like you every day, I love it when they get pissy over common sense. Always wondered what they did with that energy when they got home. Now we know.

I wanted to get the jab now because without it I can't get a certificate and without certificate I can't have my wedding next month. That is the only reason.

That just adds more credence to the belief there's something nefarious behind forcing people to get vaccinated. It won't stop until people make it stop.

This is exactly what this Forum is here for: A place for people to vent about something that is upsetting to them.

Seems like there's always someone who just can't resist being an ass to the OP, because they think the OP's complaint isn't justified, but it doesn't actually matter whether or not it is justified.

I have plenty of proof, for other jabs and meds. I have plenty of ER reports.
From reactions to an anesthetic once during surgery which could have ended badly and I even reactions so simple nsaid's and painkillers. I'm at the point that I take no meds at all except for extreme pain control.

It's all there in my medical records which, over here, are linked to my ID card and accessible by every doctor, hospital and pharmacy in the country (no medical privacy!) . And also, over here in Belgium, they don't do standard allergy tests for medication, only provoke testing, so no, there is no proof that I am allergic to mrna's since I never tried them and no, they shouldn't just take MY word for it, they don't even take my doctors word for it because there were no tests done!

so where exactly are my unsubstantiated claims?

Seems like the only reason someone would be having this problem is because they're lying.

So far in my family of four, only the two who are vaccinated have tested positive for covid. My youngest and I have no symptoms. I'll keep everyone updated so we can at least get some real life data regarding the efficacy of the vaccine.

Though of course some won't believe me, others who have only wanted unmanipulated data might appreciate it.

Of course, if I suddenly get sick or take a turn for the worse than I'll also let everyone know. No need for me to lie, what I want more than anything is the wellbeing of humanity. Not to be right, but to be helpful.

ETA: I remember you associated illness with uncleanliness; I can assure you that my ocd husband who wears masks everywhere and cleans doorknobs with lysol and washes his hands religiously did not get sick due to negligence.

The Omicron variant is doing all that? When did this change?

I'm the only one in my family who is not vaccinated, none of us got the virus so far. We all tested a couple of times when one of us was sick but always negative.

I'm still washing the skin of my hands daily!
The one college at work who is worse then me got infected last week with no idea how he got it.

RNA is a vital part of our normal biology. An allergy to mRNA itself would evidence itself as a severe and probably fatal autoimmune disease.

However, there are other things like some lipids and adjuvants in the various vaccines. These things could have allergic reactions. The thing is, that the Novovax probably has them, too. Novovax definitely contains a turpine-glycloside adjuvant.

Also Novovax instead of carrying the relatively well tolerated mRNA, actually carries a lipid wrapped nanoparticle of 14 copies of the spike protein molecule. So, if your allergies are to the lipid coat, it is similar to mRNA vaccines and is just as likely to trigger a reaction.

The only real way to know is to test is using a proper allergic reaction panel. You can't just guess these things. I suspect that your health professional wants you to get a proper test done to determine if you are allergic.

If you also have an allergy to the Novovax vaccine, it could save your life, and you could be one of those people who should be granted exemption from vaccination on clinically proven medical grounds.
