This I agree with, but not a blanket statement that parents are fully responsible for what their kids do

Not fully responsible, but definitely some culpability. Kid fantasised about murder, so lets buy him a handgun, and not have it locked up(appears that way). I guess, as more info comes out, the full story will emerge. I don't even know if the gun had to be locked up?

Why are they charging the parents?

IMO Political. 100% Political. 😃

hmmm I'm not sure about that mate .

Innocent people don't run , Guilty people run.

What IF the "fleeing" is part of staged and scripted events? 😃

I smell fake and phony things 😃

A deep fake is possible

But in this case I think unlikely , It seems perhaps this is a push to make parents more responsible for there kids actions but I hope not completely responsible.

The kids was old enough to take responsibility for his own actions. The parents shouldn't be held accountable. Also, it is legal to buy a firearm as a gift for a minor.

www.atf.gov...

May a parent or guardian purchase firearms or ammunition as a gift for a juvenile (less than 18 years of age)?

Yes. However, persons less than 18 years of age may only receive and possess handguns with the written permission of a parent or guardian for limited purposes, e.g., employment, ranching, farming, target practice or hunting.

I'm not ruling out either or both. Three-letter agencies have a habit of having violent disturbed people who go on to commit mass murders "on their radar"... and some have "handlers"... and at least one was a former agent himself...

Wouldn't surprise me to hear GS4 is somehow linked at this point. I almost expect it!

If I understand the story correctly .

The parents bought the Hand Gun as a sort of Christmas Gift which is fine I received a shotgun for my 16th birthday and I managed not to shoot the school up.

Where the waters muddy , Is when the kid makes a threat on paper about shooting the school up . So the School calls the parents to the school and request they remove there son from the school and seek medical help for him .

The parents refuse , and later that day the Kid pulls the gun from his book-bag and kills four people . Also apparently the mother was texting her son before and after the shooting , of which she failed to warn the school or disclose any of this to the police .

So the parents maybe did break the Law.

Yeah, and due to Michigans lack of safe storage gun laws, it’s going to be hard to make those charges stick.
Especially when you count in, every parent thinks their child is the best and brightest.
“Little Timmy could never hurt a fly,” type of thing. Meanwhile little Timmy is out there torturing frogs and neighbourhood dogs. An every kid in the area knows little Timmy is a demented freak, but the parents are blind to it.

But who knows, perhaps there’s a way to make the parents accountable.
To me the School is just as guilty. They could of straight up said, no get this little creep out of here now or we will have the Sheriff remove him.

They will be paraded out on national TV as an example on why the general public cannot be allowed to have guns namely because they are too irresponsible and a threat to freedom and democracy therefore all guns should be banned and only police or military or politicians' private security can be trusted with guns.

Heil Fauci - Heil Biden

They will be paraded out on national TV .ED..as after this is HALF OVER
no one should be trusted with guns but us. Signed Gubmint.

When I was young (many decades ago) my dad kept all firearms locked up .
I had to explain every single reason , down to the minutest detail , before I could go hunting with my friends or my relatives even .
And my friends had to do the same with their dads .

Well, they've been found and arrested. Doesn't look to me like they had any intention of turning themselves in.

Fugitive parents of Michigan shooter Ethan Crumbley are ARRESTED less than a mile from Canadian border after leading authorities on massive manhunt

The fugitive parents of accused Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley have been taken into custody after leading authorities on a large-scale manhunt.

James and Jennifer Crumbley were captured early on Saturday in the basement of a building on the 1100 block of Bellevue Street in Detroit, less than half a mile from the Canadian border, police confirmed.

Police were led to the commercial building by a tip from the community and were captured on video going inside, said Detroit Police Chief James White early Saturday morning. He also said the two did not break in and likely were helped by someone who let them into the building.

Around 10 p.m. Friday, hours after a 4pm deadline for their surrender, police found the couple's abandoned black 2021 Kia Seltos SUV on the east side of Detroit, within walking distance to the Detroit River, which forms the border between Canada and the US.

Detroit Police launched a massive manhunt for the parents in the area around the abandoned Kia, locking down a radius of several blocks deploying K-9 units to track their possible path on foot.

White said the two were hiding in a room in the building, which is used for artwork, and that both were 'distressed' and 'very upset' with their heads down when they were arrested. They were not armed.

These two POS's were really going to abandon their son. It's not like they haven't screwed him up his entire life, and he's probably better off without them, but still... I can't even say more without seriously violating T&Cs.

Well we know if it was a black kid he would be out on bail right now and have an excuse like he was bullied.

Or he'd have been shot 15 times in the back while resisting arrest.

Just sayin'

Yeah, my parents would never in a million years have left a gun anywhere that I could have accessed it without permission. And I'd never have dared take one without permission either.

Looks like the parents were arrested early this morning.

They tried to evade the police, but the long arm of the law plucked them off the streets.

They're real people with a verifiable history in the community and on social media, so we know that they aren't crisis actors. People knew them for years before this happened.

It looks like they want to charge the parents with laws that don't exist. She making a huge leap due to personal feelings and not making sense. She never should have done this presser.

Liberal agenda on gun control and challenging the constitution is the end goal.

Everything I'm seeing about this kid is utterly heartbreaking. The note that said the voices wouldnt stop and HELP ME brought me to tears.

I hope these parents fall on a sharp stick.

Is it legal to buy a gun for anyone that is expressing murderous delusions?

This kid likely isnt responsible all by himself. And given what sounds like a burgeoning case of schizophrenia, he may not be liable at all.

His family failed him and the victims

From what Ive read, the father is a real piece of work.
He has another kid who lives with the mother down in Florida.

The mother of that kid did an interview expressing how messed up the father was.

It really is heartbreaking. What this kid did is horrifying... but when you look at how he was raised, and who he was raised by, it's no wonder... it's a miracle that it wasn't worse. This poor kid was doomed from the start. If only they'd abandoned him years ago. Maybe he would have had a chance. The parents are getting off easy with involuntary manslaughter. I'd give them reckless manslaughter at the very least... I bet a good case could be made for second degree murder if the prosecutor is worth his/her salt.

I hope these parents fall on a sharp stick.

At the very least.... Grrrrrrrrr
