Australian Army Begins Transferring COVID-Positive Cases, Contacts To Quarantine Camps

I currently reside in Western Australia and we have been shut of from the world and perodically parts of Australia deemed as high risk since covid began. We had lockdown for a week for a few cases, the rest of the time has been Covid free and only required to wear masks for 2 weeks of the last year or so. I did travel to another state that was low covid risk a couple of months ago so we where not completely isolated. Australia is opening up to international flights in December (certain countries if the people are double vaxed) restrictions will diminish in more populated centres. It will flow through the community it has just delayed the inevitable untill vaccination rates were higher. This had to be done or our "socialist" world best health care system would of collapsed under the pressure.

Personally pro choice, never happy to see Police, Military or Government sticking their nose in or mandating anything. They are not greatly welcomed or respected within certain households in First Nations communities either. I would suspect forced removal for health reasons would be very limited and frowned upon it would come down to co-morbidities, lack of nutrition etc., and
over population in certain households. Not keen on the idea and you would think their would be a more humane way to go about it. The cooperations run by their people run a fine line of cultural/health well-being dealing with a Government seen to deal out systemic abuse and failure of governance.

The threat of disease spreading in these communities is a lot worse than a stay at Howard Spring's. Well in short what you are missing is that you may see no harm in this. However this is a step. If you don’t stand up and fight to stop this because it doesn’t effect you then there will be nobody to help you when it does. And it will. This is history repeating itself. This is exactly what Germans did to Jews then tried to do it to the world. You are on the front lines.

In Arizona, out tribes have their own land. They elect their own president or leaders. It's like little nations inside the United States. The tribes don't have to adhere to Arizona laws. And if you are on tribal land, you have to adhere to the tribe's laws. The tribes have their own cops.

So I am puzzled that the Aussie military is able to go into aborigines towns and just pluck them out and put them in concentration camps...whoops..I mean alleged quarantine.

With 39 active cases in a population of 247,023 persons accounting for about 1% of the Australian population, sounds like tremendous overreach and overreaction. About 31% of the NT population is Indigenous.
