The dark years of my life were when they killed the Kennedy's and MLK.

This present time will be the dark years that my grandchildren will remember.

So manipulating. So on-purpose. So self-destructive. So Sad.

I'm confused.

Why the confusion? Displaying merchandise and forced injections are two totally different things. Although Newsome has once again over stepped his boundaries.

Nobody's forcing anyone.

What do YOU call it then ?
Your point is moot .

Forced :

adjective adjective:
forced
obtained or imposed by coercion or physical power. "the brutal regime of forced labor"

It's good to see Texas Leaders serve and protect, as they swore to. Sadly, the US Congress is only serving and protecting themselves.

Urgent Info: The Vaccines are too dangerous for our U.S. Congress members/staff, and their families.

They decided to go along with the "mask" mandate, but for the vaccine mandate, said: "No way in hell!".

Source: www.newsweek.com...

If this doesn't send a resoundingly strong message to America that the benefits of these experimental vaccines are not worth their potential risk, I don't know what does.

Unless you include the threat of being fired if you work for a company with more than 100 employees. Please tell me you are kidding. Being this dumb isn't really an option at this stage.

Gov. Abbott is desperately pandering for votes in the upcoming gubernatorial race. I don't know why he thinks a state governor's executive order trumps a presidential executive order. I'm not sure either of them are constitutional, and Biden's admin still has yet to flesh out their OSHA regulations regarding vaccines, but SCOTUS has upheld vaccine mandates.

I just don't see this EO holding up in court.

Straw man deflection. Nothing more.

Did Trump issue an EO banning states' emission regulations when he pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord? Nope.

State governors formed a political pact, US Climate Alliance, with other US states. They did not stop Trump's withdrawal of the Paris Accord.

Not deflection; very relevant to the current situation.

Is it OK for states' governors to "trump" the Federal executive branch ALL the time, or only in some situations?

So much for personal choice. Texas has just stripped thousands of businesses of their rights to govern thier own affairs.

But Trump did try to block california from bringing in regulations on fuel additives, and he amend existing legislation to prevent states from issuing protected waterway status to flood plains.

Yeah
They won't want to discuss that.
Rules for thee not for me.
TLB.

And as the governor, he has EVERY right to protect his citizens from federal over reach.
If the government officials in dc have been set aside, all citizens can be set aside.

wow, you really don't get "personal freedom" at all, do you.

Freedom is not being forced to take an experimental drug. Every business you claim is being robbed of their freedom, has every right to move their operations to a state that is more boot licking in it's mandates. Freedom is wonderful that way.

but as we have seen with the Biden administration, legality isn't really the point, just doing what you want IS. Once the courts come down on you, months have passed and you were able to achieve your objective regardless of those silly laws. Se also, rent moratorium.

No, it's not. Please show me a state whose governor issued an executive order to try and "trump" one of President Trump's executive orders.

And...the state took Trump's administration to court over it. The governor didn't try to issue his own EO to override Trump's.

The president's one is completely illegal per the constitution, DUH. Only states have legal authority to institute things for so called pandemics, but in many states who unilaterally imposed lockdown restrictions acted above their authority to do so when no real pandemic existed.

A lot of law breaking leaders using the Covid scare to do many illegal things, (you know that pesky US Constitution you don't understand? YES that one).

There is no presidential EO covering this (yet) that I am aware of. Just a MSM “proclamation”.

President Joe Biden on Thursday issued two executive orders mandating vaccines for federal workers and contractors and announced new requirements for large employers and health care providers that he said would affect around 100 million workers, more than two-thirds of the U.S. workforce.

www.nbcnews.com...

Accordingly, building on these actions, and in light of the public health guidance regarding the most effective and necessary defenses against COVID-19, I have determined that to promote the health and safety of the Federal workforce and the efficiency of the civil service, it is necessary to require COVID-19 vaccination for all Federal employees, subject to such exceptions as required by law.

WHITHOUSE EO

(b) By September 24, 2021, the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force (Task Force) shall, as part of its issuance of Task Force Guidance, provide definitions of relevant terms for contractors and subcontractors, explanations of protocols required of contractors and subcontractors to comply with workplace safety guidance, and any exceptions to Task Force Guidance that apply to contractor and subcontractor workplace locations and individuals in those locations working on or in connection with a Federal Government contract or contract-like instrument (as described in section 5(a) of this order).

WHITEHOUSE EO

Finally, President Biden announced The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will require COVID-19 vaccinations for workers in most health care settings that receive Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement, including but not limited to hospitals, dialysis facilities, ambulatory surgical settings, and home health agencies. This new requirement builds on CMS’s existing vaccination requirement for nursing facilities, and will apply to nursing home staff as well as staff in hospitals and other CMS-regulated settings, including clinical staff, individuals providing services under arrangements, volunteers, and staff who are not involved in direct patient, resident, or client care. These requirements will apply to approximately 50,000 providers and cover a majority of health care workers across the country.

www.natlawreview.com...

Perhaps you're thinking that because OSHA hasn't yet published it's COVID regulations, that there is no EO.

Biden signed an executive order on Sept. 9 directing the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to develop an Emergency Temporary Standard that would require employees to be vaccinated or be tested once a week. Businesses could face fines up to $14,000 per violation.

It has now been weeks, and OSHA still hasn’t given further details. The agency did not respond to a request for comment. Some companies, though, are getting a jump on the edict.

news.yahoo.com...

So yeah, there is/are presidential EOs on vaccine mandates that Gov Abbott's EO directly contradict.
