Matthew 7:19-25
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Which basically means that many will think they are going right by Him, and when the day of the Lord comes, He will not know them. So if you think that sin is acceptable in His eyes, you're wrong. Yes, sinners come to Him because we are all sinners, but sin itself is not acceptable. We go before Him to seek to turn away from our sins, not attempt to use Him as a get out of Hell free card.

I guess it would depend on how you define working for God doesn't it?
I would say that if this bishop is transgender, he/she has a gone quite a bit further than "at times feeling like a different sex than God intended". Instead, it seems he/she has gone ahead and embraced the idea that God done gone and effed up good by putting him/her in the wrong body.
That isn't exactly the idea. God makes us the way we're intended to be, and it's up to us to accept that, not fight it. Your idea that at times I felt like I was in the wrong place is more like what we'd expect, but in the end, you make peace with who you are - a feminine man or a masculine woman.

One of the nicest guys I know is an openly gay deacon. :shrugs:
It's not your place to judge. If the believe in the teachings, and they're good at conveying the message, why does it matter?
If you have sex before marriage, or commit adultery, then you as equally sinful and the homosexual you condemn or the transgender you revile.

Maybe the Bible and other religions teachings are just suggestions. Sure it might not be a good idea to have a Transgender bishop; but its not a show stopper. A lot more has to go wrong before God starts turning cities into salt.
You sure about that?
Yes, Evangelical Lutheran church installs 1st transgender bishop and they didn't turn to salt.
Can you quote in the Bible where it says that? I must have missed it.
I just quoted life. Evangelical Lutheran church installs 1st transgender bishop and they didn't turn to salt. That happened; it was you who brought it to our attention.
If God doesn't like this behavior he has a big problem; the longer he lets people violate his laws with out ramifications the more people will push the envelope.
Unless of course what I said is more or less true and God does mind much that people are violating his laws so flagrantly.
