Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Matthew 7:19-25

Which basically means that many will think they are going right by Him, and when the day of the Lord comes, He will not know them. So if you think that sin is acceptable in His eyes, you're wrong. Yes, sinners come to Him because we are all sinners, but sin itself is not acceptable. We go before Him to seek to turn away from our sins, not attempt to use Him as a get out of Hell free card.

Perfectly acceptable; one day that Transgender Bishop will be before God and will have to explain that while he devoted his life to teach the word of God and help his congregation he did at times feel to be a different sex than God intended. And God will than judge the Bishop.

I'd be more worried for the keyboard warriors who spent their time lamenting over Transgender bishops; than for the Transgender bishop who spent his time working for God.

I guess it would depend on how you define working for God doesn't it?

I would say that if this bishop is transgender, he/she has a gone quite a bit further than "at times feeling like a different sex than God intended". Instead, it seems he/she has gone ahead and embraced the idea that God done gone and effed up good by putting him/her in the wrong body.

That isn't exactly the idea. God makes us the way we're intended to be, and it's up to us to accept that, not fight it. Your idea that at times I felt like I was in the wrong place is more like what we'd expect, but in the end, you make peace with who you are - a feminine man or a masculine woman.

Yeah; I'm still more worried for the key board warriors than the transsexual bishop. Even if he/she's all crazy in the melon its still better than key board warriors being bitter on the internet.

Unless; if you have evidence that this Transgender person did something like rape or murder someone.

Worse if you believe the warning of Revelation.

It's part of the Jezebel spirit that is so prevalent today.

One of the nicest guys I know is an openly gay deacon. :shrugs:

It's not your place to judge. If the believe in the teachings, and they're good at conveying the message, why does it matter?

im sorry but being "gay" (aka who you choose to be attracted to, have sex with or both) is NOT THE SAME as someone who claims they are a gender/sex that is BIOLOGICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for humans

if your XX chromosome your a BIOLOGCIAL FEMALE
if your XY chromosome your a BIOLOGICAL MALE

any drug or hormone you take, any body modification surgery you have, any way you dress / present yourself, and any way you "identify as" CANNOT CHANGE THAT.

One is a choice (note best term but closest i can come up with) , one is denial of fact.

as the saying goes

one of these things is not like the other

in short

who that deacon chooses to have physical (among other types) love for.. all the power to them (leaving the religious issue for another time)
one who cannot accept BIOLOGICAL FACT / science... sorry no Bueno

If you have sex before marriage, or commit adultery, then you as equally sinful and the homosexual you condemn or the transgender you revile.

You don't buy a car without looking under the hood. And these days you sure as hell better look under the hood. Cause you don't know what's under there these days.

There is also XXY which is called Klinefelter syndrome they are born biologically male, usually taller than average males.
Also there are inter sex people when child is born with both organs male and female. These both are biological issues and producing babies are rarely possible. XYY is called Jacobs syndrome, taller than males in average and delayd speech also aggressions ( not all XYY males ) fertility problems but producing children is possibility. XXXY male, infertile, hypotonia, IQ range 40 to 60 a lot of behaviour problems. Anyway there are more than XX and XY.

It seems that mostly which are not XX or XY have fertility issues ( maybe by reason ? )

Gender identity in other hand is what sex a man/woman think they are and feel they are. Like with this Bishop.

Genesis we all know... As a Male and Female he created them
In Deutoromy " A woman shall not wear a man’s apparel, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment; for whoever does such things is abhorrent to the LORD your God"

In this case Bishop is married to a woman, in Bible there are multile verses about homosexuality in old and new. All say it is an abomination.

Why it is a an abomination.. pair like that cannot contribute to God´s command in old testament "fullfill the world" as a man and wife as a couple.

As a shephard of church, not flawless one and a sinner according texts in Bible even an abomination in some. Not here to judge her it is her life and how she lives her life is between her and God. Text are mostly in old testament and Paul´s texts in new. Jesus does not mention homosexuality at all, his mission was bringing people to God not to judge sinners. Jesus as a judge is in Revelation.

Not sure is church doing the right thing, people can always vote with their feets.

Maybe the Bible and other religions teachings are just suggestions. Sure it might not be a good idea to have a Transgender bishop; but its not a show stopper. A lot more has to go wrong before God starts turning cities into salt.

You sure about that?

Yes, Evangelical Lutheran church installs 1st transgender bishop and they didn't turn to salt.

Can you quote in the Bible where it says that? I must have missed it.

I just quoted life. Evangelical Lutheran church installs 1st transgender bishop and they didn't turn to salt. That happened; it was you who brought it to our attention.

If God doesn't like this behavior he has a big problem; the longer he lets people violate his laws with out ramifications the more people will push the envelope.

Unless of course what I said is more or less true and God does mind much that people are violating his laws so flagrantly.

One can argue that this "behavior" is God's judgement, turning them over to a deranged mind. So on the whole, transgender, gay marriage, etc of a nation isn't one awaiting judgement, but it IS His judgement.
