suprise me, it's not a popular phrase in google chinese, not even over one and half page and 99% of this phrase is about a title of german book, but I only found one ''withe devil'' about american. I have been UK for 7 years since my A levels. I am going back next year after my Master degree. Because the situation there is not like what you may think. And a real Example, my uncle had encephalomyelitis five years ago, but his situation was not that bad by taking medical treatment at that time. but he insist not to take any treatment after he start to Falun gong that what Falun gong told people not to take any medical treatment and Falun will cure any sickness if you believe it. He died after 1 year he pratice the idot Falun and stop his medical treatment... I am really shame and sick to see the Fanlun people protest anywhere in UK.

Every country got their own problems, Especially, for a big country with 1.3 billion populations have 56 different minority groups. So the democracy has to be gradually and very carefully in a big nation, not at once. We don't want to be second russia. We will have fully democracy it's just factor of time cos what i can see is democracy is getting better and better everyday and the situation now it's not bad at all.........We don't want fully copy of american democracy because it just won't suit us fully cos we have different culture and ideology.

I think what some American's fail to understand is that the Chinese people in general think very highly of Americans due to the help China received in World War 2.

After reading most of the thread i do think i need to reply to this , see im german , and before u go on and blast the French and Germany maybe its time to first see why we didnt join in this war. More than half of germany was against the war from the beginning for several reasons :


1. There was no evidence of Wmd
2. We in germany are facing a huge economic problem at the moment with well over 5 million ppl out of work , a huge amount of debt , the population getting older and the social system going down the drain .
3. We really dont have no money for operations like this because of point 2
4. Our " Bundeswehr " is already involved in Afgahnistan , Kosovo and several other places for the un/nato , that being so we also just dont have anymore men/equipment left over for Iraq
5. There was no Un resolution backing up the us so that would have made it illegal to go into iraq (from our point of view)

Did i ever occur to you that China is geographically situated much closer to North Korea, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and Russia than the US. Are you really surprised that it wants a cutting edge military under these circumstances. Also China is probably one of the most contested areas in military history. Why should China be pulling the strings of NK? England and the US used to be enmies but that changed relatively quick didn't it?
I dont see China Posturing against the US mainland and I dont see it bing in a position to do so. The only threat I see from China for the US is if its forces start making a mess in their back yard.

Personally I am for China as a leveller in the world power game since, like Russia, they are defensive and not reknowned initiators of conflict (escpeially succesful conflict). Neither is the US, until lately. A powerful China could lead to more accountability on the behalf of the US, hopefully this may start a trend toward the restoration of the US ESTABLISHMENT (people are people!) as a benevolent and popular defender of humanity rather than the cold, profiteering agressor with imperialist leanings which (many see) is beginning to emerge under the current administration.

The best analogy I have ever heard relating to China is this one.

'China is the fat kid in the playground who sits there and munches his rice. Some of the other, bigger kids (US, Russia), like to brag about how they could take him on and they taunt him with names and thrown stones. China just sits there and takes it because it makes no difference. As soon as one of those kids pushes his luck and comes too close... China will crush him.'

I feel the exact same way about the US government. At least the Chinese governement is HONEST about being Communists. Their propaganda is just as laughable as your governments' but that's what Communists do, right?

Do you see China invading Middle Eastern countries for their oil? You'd better hope they don't follow the US's lead in pre-emptive strikes...

If China wants to take over the Middle East, they could do so easily with US forces stretched so thin.

As shocking as it sounds, I think I trust the Chinese government more than I trust the U.S. government. Yipes.

I read an article online one time it was written by a CHINESE General who stated that in a war with the US would only end in a lose for the Chinese, he said that the way to defeat the US would be thru economic espionage, stealing money from the US and making the economy fail.

Look at whats happening now, would you think that the Chinese gov, has already started their war with the US and it just hasn't been announced yet.

It will take at least a couple years to make the US economy fall and I'm hoping that it doesn't because I love my country and I love the way I live my life and if it comes to were I can't buy groceries to feed my family then I will be very unhappy.
