Apparently plenty more civillians dead on the tarmac, it's unclear if they were killed when US troops fired 'warning shots' or in the stampede to try and flee the Taliban on the plane.

You're forgetting one thing though. When you put the guys who were guarding the perimeter on a plane, as the last to leave, there's nobody left to guard the perimeter anymore.

No, but they'll have taken precautions and have armed overwatch orbiting the airport, and helos down low. There's a video of two AH-64s flying slowly down the runway and the side of the runway clearing people off, using their rotor wash, so a C-17 can take off.

If what I read about Biden NIXING Trump's want of satellite and additional aerial support was right, then that can be construed in hindsight as both blinding them, AND ripping an arm off. Was more heartbreaking than the moment I realized those things falling off the towers were people choosing to avoid being burned alive.
