As a kid I was thought to fear the wolf, as a grown up I realised the danger comes from the sheep.

The sheep are taught to fear the wolf.

It's the shepherd who eats them in the end.

Biden just ended a speech about how the economy is doing and the supply chain problems.

As they talked about it on Fox, the live band was playing the theme for Monty Python in the background. The band knows. They cut the live audio now. I was expecting possibly the Benny Hill chase music next.

Yeah because they found out what their mothers were doing in hell.

Although apparently it had some slowed-down soundtrack of slaughtered animals, or mind-control experiments (according to long-time urban legends), which were possibly not well replicated outside the original screenings.

But yeah, the themes of the film were were pretty shocking too.

Sigh, some people like Napoleon, just weren't reformed by prison.

They should have put Hitler to work in the laundry, where like the Neo-Nazi in American History X he would have come to his senses while sniffing men's underwear with minorities.

Instead somebody gave him a typewriter and he essentially walked out with Mein Kampf.

I didn't want to pollute the other thread but I've just learned that the Muppets from Sesame Street are promoting the vax for kids using Twitter.

My first hope was to see a newspaper headline saying....

"Big Bird Tweets".

That's one I would've bought and saved.

So, we've been trying to learn to like squash as a winter staple, but it's...going slowly. Turns out, none of us like the same squashes < scratches head >

But we can all agree on one thing, whether we're even aware of it or not -- acorn squash makes an EXCELLENT puree substitute for pumpkin in pies. Nobody knew the difference

For anyone interested, it's just this recipe divided into two pie pans. And, uh, I suck at crusts, so I got pre-mades. Worked fine though!

Aside from making the puree, I also added half teaspoon of ginger instead of the whole teaspoon it calls for, and a half teaspoon of allspice, plus 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg. It's more of an outright spiced pie that way, not just "pumpkin" spice
Edit: And a tablespoon of vanilla extract! The mix didn't taste right until I added vanilla extract.

We're going to see if we can make a lightly mocha-flavored version later this afternoon

In southern Germany, super unleaded gas now costs $7.78 a gallon (figured from an average price of 1.8 Euros per liter).

Running about twice the cost of the same in New York City (per internet data).

No reduction in vehicle traffic in Germany that I'm aware of.

Cheers

It will be way past 2 Euros/L in Spring. Our government made sure of this. Americans that think they pay a lot for gas have not seen the prices here.
