They want us to be informed; about certain circumstances in society that happen; rapping about them is not promoting them; the purpose is to bring about awareness.

Maybe a few are, but I have seen tons of music videos where you see a black guy all decked out in gold and diamonds, surrounded by lots of skimpy women all over him or even making out with each other. Just what is that making us aware of? Secondly: what about all the pop star videos that are chock full of satanic imagery (snakes, horns, flames of fire, pentagrams, one eye, words talking about selling your soul, etc)...what purpose do these serve? what kind of awareness should people get from those?

I hope I didn't come off too confrontational...but I would like to know your thoughts then on what awareness these things are meant to bring to the public?

It is more than just a plan to loosen morals. It is literally a devised plan to cause as many humans as possible to lose their soul and spend eternity in hell.

It’s no secret the nuclear family is no longer the bench Mark of success in America. Values held as traditional American values are condemned and those who hold them labeled with scorn. Music... people create all kinds of content. The industry forces whatever content they want onto us. It’s not that artists are making trashier music, just that’s what’s being sold to us.

There’s been filth in music for a long time, that’s not the problem. It’s the destruction of positive role models that is.

Back to the OP... I do think there’s a general combativeness that many find acceptable behavior, keyboard warriors and densely populated areas succumb to this, maybe it’s the lack of personal responsibility?

Everything about "why are people shocked/offended by culture" was explained in the OP, hence my response. And culture shock is not always a matter of traveling somewhere different but someone expressing cultural values/language/art that offends your traditional concepts of how people should behave. Google it for more details.
