Vladimir Putin personally authorised a secret spy agency operation to support a “mentally unstable” Donald Trump in the 2016 US presidential election during a closed session of Russia’s national security council, according to what are assessed to be leaked Kremlin documents.
The key meeting took place on 22 January 2016, the papers suggest, with the Russian president, his spy chiefs and senior ministers all present.
They agreed a Trump White House would help secure Moscow’s strategic objectives, among them “social turmoil” in the US and a weakening of the American president’s negotiating position.

Before I say anything else allow me to say that this should be taken with a grain of salt. The provenance of these documents is not 100%. However, experts have stated that the documents fit the style and time of legitimate Kremlin documents.
If proven true, it certainly supports many of the claims made over the past 5 years. It would mean that Russia actively attempted to overthrow our democratic process in an attempt to install someone they thought they could control and use to destabilize the US.
Of course, this does not necessarily mean that Trump was complicit in the Kremlin's actions. They could have been operating without his knowledge. However, the fact that the report mentions compromising material on Trump could mean that Trump was a puppet of the Kremlin once he took office.
Obviously the Kremlin is denying the legitimacy of the document. If they admitted to the contents it would cause a major international incident that would possibly see Russia's economy crippled by sanctions.
As I said straight off the bat, these documents are not 100% verified so the legitimacy of any of their contents are questionable. If proven to be legitimate, it would certainly be a major blow to Trump's legacy and his chances in 2024. Which may be the point of they are fabricated.

Well, I don't know if anyone got away with anything at this point, or even did anything.
But the subversive part of me hopes some seriously messed up stuff went down that would make Ron Jeremy flee in horror.
The Guardian has shown the documents to independent experts who say they appear to be genuine. Incidental details come across as accurate. The overall tone and thrust is said to be consistent with Kremlin security thinking.
This would help bring about Russia’s favoured “theoretical political scenario”. A Trump win “will definitely lead to the destabilisation of the US’s sociopolitical system” and see hidden discontent burst into the open, it predicts.
There is a brief psychological assessment of Trump, who is described as an “impulsive, mentally unstable and unbalanced individual who suffers from an inferiority complex”.
There is also apparent confirmation that the Kremlin possesses kompromat, or potentially compromising material, on the future president, collected – the document says – from Trump’s earlier “non-official visits to Russian Federation territory”.
The paper refers to “certain events” that happened during Trump’s trips to Moscow. Security council members are invited to find details in appendix five, at paragraph five, the document states. It is unclear what the appendix contains.

These were my initial thoughts as well. At the scene time though, anyone as rich and powerful as Trump who's been around for as long as he has is going to have some skeletons in his closet.
