Southgate, he knew to keep Kane on. He wasn't gonna substitute him, he knew there was a goal coming. Graet tactics by the manager.

Great substitute bringing Grealish on for Saka, at the right time too. Brilliant.

The man's showing his genius tonight, the FA did a fantastic job in giving him a new contract.

What a man, what a manager.

Of course its great beating Germany.
Everyone involved deserves to celebrate and the crowd were fantastic.

But Mama Cass isn't singing yet.

Enjoy the moment then time to switch back on, prepare and do the job and get to the semi's.

5 years ago I thought Raheem Stirling was one of the worst players ever to put an England shirt on.
He has grown and is a truly fantastic player and deserves all the plaudits he gets.

I've heard he's quite a humble guy away from football and puts a lot back into the community.

England look like they have a tremendous team spirit, something that can't always have been said in the past.

I've said a lot about the manager.
I can't be a hypocrite and suddenly start praising him.
Is it despite Southgate or is he in fact getting everything right by design?
I'm not sure now.....let's see what happens on Saturday.

Well done England you proved me wrong, long may that continue.

I think he's getting it right by design , it's along road to a final and Southgate is playing the long game in both his strategy and player selection.

He's built a strong squad , Mama Cass may not be singing yet but she is in the building.

Come on England !

I'm taking a leaf out of Southgate's book and putting caution first.

There is no reason why we can't get to the final, anything else should be viewed as failure now.
But that doesn't in any way mean that we should underestimate whoever we play in the quarter-final and hopefully semi-final.

I don't think Southgate would be guilty of such arrogance, despite all my criticisms of him I've never denied he is the consummate professional and I suspect his preparation will be second to none.

As I've said before, I'm very much of the 'we'll score one more than you' school of thought.
Its got us nowhere really but its enjoyable to watch.

Its time we actually WON something.

If we're at Wembley on July 11th and I'm still slagging Southgate off well I'll be a happy man.

I'll tell yiz what England were very good tonight and look very very strong.
It could well be your turn to win the trophy.

He'll start Grealish instead of Saka next game. Thats the only change he'll make

Against the Ukraine I could imagine him going back to a flat back four.
I also think Mount will come in for Saka.

I'd start Grealish but I think Southgate see's him more as an impact substitute.
I think he might start with Foden, or maybe even Sancho.

I've been reasonably impressed with Bellingham, I think he has a bright future.

He certainly has options.

Belgium v Italy next.

Been looking forward to this all week.

Both teams playing well and both absolute heavyweights.

I suspect Italy have the edge just going by their long run of wins.
