You understand incorrectly. The scriptures do NOT speak an "awful lot" about not judging people. In the book of Matthew chapter 7 it says "Judge not that ye be not judged." If you'll read further on in that same book of Matthew, in the next to last verse Jesus says, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." Isn't that presuming those people are sinners and need saving? And isn't that kind of judging them? No, it's people like you who take the "Judge not that ye be not judged" verse out of context and try to trip Christians up with it. Jesus was the one who also said those words. Was he contradicting himself? No. The context he was saying about not judging was to non-Christians. And he warned against it for this exact scenario that you're in. So, do you now understand how you misinterpretted the Bible? We're commanded to study the Bible so that we can gather it's true meaning. You can take any verse out of context and use it to "prove" your position. That doesn't mean your position is correct.
