Yup, that's what I was told by the paramedic who checked me out after my shot a week ago. Strange experience to begin with...appointment made through the provincial health ministry, and administered through the local hospital in a cavernous building at out local fair grounds. Drive-through medicine!

I had also been on waiting lists at two local pharmacies, but this one came up first so I jumped on it. Mrs. Canuck got hers a couple of weeks before me, and she got the AZ at her pharmacy. After about 12 hours, aftereffects kicked in, and she had about 16 hours of chills, fever and malaise. Then abruptly felt great. Me? Very strange taste in my mouth with my tongue getting just a little numb. Bit tired the next day, sore arm for a couple more. Then that was it.

But back to my scary header. I see all kinds of alarmist stuff here, people stating that folks who have gotten the shot are still getting the Covid Cooties. Better not get vaccinated! I was told in no uncertain terms by the paramedic who monitored my post-shot wait, that the vaccine would NOT offer immunity. She stressed that. She followed with "But it WILL keep you out of the hospital WHEN you get it!"

That's good enough for me. I stocked a pandemic kit with over the counter health needs a year ago, and I can do the flu. Staying out of the hospital is all I ask. Should I listen to my GP, or some guy on the net with a medical degree from the University of YouTube? I'm happy to listen to my GP, thanks. Stay safe, keep your distance, mask up and get the shot, As I've said for a year now...Be smart, be cool, and be kind, my friends.
edit on 27-4-2021 by JohnnyCanuck because: Sorry if I was judgmental towards those who decline vaccination. Hope to see them in a year.

So you got an experimental shot that does NOT give you immunity and you have no idea what the affects will be 6 months, 1 year or 2 years down the road? BRILLIANT!

Will keep you out of hospital she reckons???

That remains to be seen.

Lets hope it doesn't give you more reasons to qualify for that sticker on your dash l/h corner.

You jab and mask up if you feel its appropriate but keep your not so dissimilar "university of youtube" advice to yoursel.....remember that kindness you speak of to others also applies to those who choose not to jab or mask up.

It is good enough for you that it 'may' keep you out of hospital if you catch it? [Because it's not a 100% cert]
Unless you are over 82 years old, your chances of having to go to hospital because of this are probably lower than the side effects you 'may' encounter in the future from this injection.

Being aware during flu season, will also help you not get ill. The vast majority who ended up with full blown pneumonia and died had underlying illnesses.

Even then, ivermectin has proven to bring back people from full blown to getting better. I do not see any payoff for being part of a massive drug trial for something nobody knows what the future will bring.

The tests end in 2022/23 and you are part of the guinea pigs queuing up to say 'hey test me, test me, test me with this unknown and highly dubious concoction. Because I am so scared of a 99.96% survivable virus, which has usually none or mild symptoms, that I happily get injected with an unknown of which thousands have already died and 10s of thousands had side effects'...and we have not even begun to see the interesting things that will happen in Autumn, when the real flu season starts.
[The animals in the animal tests didn't fare well at all in that situation]
You are doing those who have shares in this industry a massive favour, for free and without anyone giving a toss if you get maimed for life. At least when I worked in the pharma labs, we paid people for trials and observed them closely.

The danger does not justify the means. Can't you just eat healthy and take vit D? How did you survive actually dangerous flus in the past? Were you scared then? If not, you certainly do not need to be scared now.

I found it really nice that I got a $260 bill for just a COVID test. It's a racket. My insurance covered $100, I sent the bill for $160 to my company since it was company related. I thought these tests were supposed to be "free".

I wonder what the bills are going to be for the "vaccine"?

No cost for testing or vaccine. Benefits of Universal Health Care. The same system that supports the free advice I got from my GP. And would cover any hospital stay, which I have dodged (Inshallah)

I would listen to my gp as well, Bernardine is her name, dance partner, I asked her about it, the issues...
She said “I can’t discuss it with you” .

Anyway, not sure I trust doctors or pharma companies who have significant investments in selling their product

Even without a vaccine, over 98 % of Covid cases are MILD !!!!

Yes, some hospitals are packed because of INCOMPETENCE over the past several years.
For example, the Ottawa Civic hospital has had its' number of beds cut from 1100 to a little over 400.

Hospitals being full has everything to do with Government incompetence, nothing to do with Covid.
And...a year into this thing and Government STILL has not come up even with a long term plan to fix hospital capacity.

Keep drinking the CBC Kool Aid.....

Most Europeans pay nothing. They get a couple of kits free every week, even if they have no symptoms.

But then again they are filthy socialists. Aren't you glad that you live in a capitalist country where you can save your money and choose what to spend it on... Oh, wait, you didn't get to choose, did you.

CBC and liberal LIES are the DIRECT cause of this Covid disaster!

If Hospitals had been left alone, with NO communist central city hospital management in Ottawa ( that did NOT save money - cost more actually), there would be MORE beds in hospitals.
More beds= less DEAD

Do you get it ?
CBC lies caused this!!!

I know I know - CBC journalists needed to push this for self-validation of their basket-weaving marxism degrees.....

I wonder if the people getting these experimental vaccines know there are institutions out there that will pay you to test their experimental drugs on you. I mean if you want to be an experiment, you might as well get paid for it, right?

Exactly. Me, I'm content to wait it out on the sidelines until these "human trials" are completed. Even after that they'll need to somehow convince me that their jab is superior to my own immune system.

I thought the vaccines were supposed to greatly reduce the symptoms of COVID, not make someone immune?

It seems that the more the phase IV trials go on, the more we find out. Like, while Pfizer and Moderna don't make you immune or anything, they actually DO really reduce your chance of infection. And, if infected, reduce the viral shed to a degree that makes you functionally noncommunicable.

I was happy enough to accept that symptoms would be diminished and my already slim chance of death would be slimmer. But the rest of what we are finding out makes these 2 vaccines seem like a no brainer for me. I get why younger people are more apprehensive. Were i a 25 year old in good health i likely would not get the vaccine either. And I don't think shaming people like that is the right thing to do.

But for me, im quite happy to get my second jab on 5/7.

My doctors are not selling a product. I actually have a treatment team that meets via zoom to discuss my treatment. The hematologist, dermatologist, and primary are the ones usually on, but the nephrologist and immunologist join from time to time as well. They have kept me alive when, on 2 separate occasions, it was not guaranteed i'd survive. They kept me out of the hospital and being close to death 2 or 3 other times. All since 2017. I cannot overstate how much more I trust them and their advice than some random ATS user.
